Layoffs???

I guess the layoff front is quiet. Makes this ‘layoff’ site seem useless except for all the whining🚜

Markets are ignoring early signs of recession!

It is interesting to see how things are being sugar coated. The investors are careful where they want to invest their money, while at BNY everything's great. The quarterly earnings and how prosperous the Employees are. King Robin is in charge and no... — read more

What is up with the hideous orange and yellow theme? Those are not our company colors. Is another merger or acquisition in the works?

How is your work-life balance?

I loved my job even though I didn't have a particularly good work-life balance before. Lately though my balance has been increasingly getting worse and I've finally decided to leave. Expectations from employees are becoming too unrealistic.

No seats

Our dept doesn’t have enough seats now so they’re asking for volunteers to have their desk be a Hotelling desk, otherwise everybody’s will become Hotelling seats. Haha brilliant! Not enough seats. This company is run by id--ts — read more

So why are you still there???

Like many other former long term employees, I check out this site to see what the current gripes are. Most of the topics are no different than the day I left the company, but of course there are always some new ways the company is trying to stick it... — read more

What is with the increase in meetings

These are never ending now and multiples a day back to back so you can’t get anything done. And what’s with 5 different teams setting up meetings asking same questions so all you do is repeat same nonsense over and over for no reason

Return of the garlic manager

The employee praise emails flowed like honey during COVID. Many people paid for upgraded internet service, spent personal money on office supplies, worked long hours, and generally stepped up to help their employer. Every single employee could have... — read more

Looking for a new job

I'm trying to be more dedicated than ever to looking for a new job, but it's taking too long. I wonder how much longer I will be looking, or when I will finally be able to give notice here. I have the impression that everyone else has managed to... — read more

Peakon

This week we were instructed how to rate the company on the Peakon surveys That pretty much eliminates any honest feedback

profits, people and the planet

The first is sacred to companies like BNYM. The second two are still told they are to sit in the back of the bus -- despite what the brochures say.

Pretenders

BNY Mellon is no exception in this regard, because in most of the places where I have worked so far, pretenders are more appreciated than those who really do all the work. However, there will soon be many more pretenders here than those who put in... — read more

3 days in office

Does anyone know how they are keeping track of our in office hours? Is it done by swipe? Can they tell how long we are logged straight into the network vs remotely? Does anyone know if there is a minimum hrs needed to get credit? From what I am... — read more

Technology no longer 10 days a quarter

So tech teams will no longer have the privilege of 10 days only in office per quarter. Archaic applications faltering every day will have even less technology oversight. Brilliant ideas coming from the top!!!

This is the last straw

Don't make a promise to me regarding promotion and fail to deliver if you don't want me to walk out. I will not tolerate having a carrot dangled in front of me only to have it snatched away at the eleventh hour. I don't care if it was made by you in... — read more

Greener pastures

So far I'm having no luck getting a new job. I talked to a few people who have left already and I was surprised by the salary increase they received. It's not a slightly higher pay, it's a significant increase. Is it possible that we are so... — read more

Animosity toward employees

It's just all very toxic. I'll be interviewing at another company next week. They can find another architect. This one's seen enough.

GS injecting into BNY. good or bad?

another GS boss pulled into BNY. will these people coming in actually help the bank in making the brand more prestigious and bring in better talent or are these folks the misfits of GS?

Behold! The ultimate sticky (bump as needed)

There are a lot of good threads that get polluted by the same low-IQ posters that ramble on about the same thing. But here's what you need to know: It is clear the current CEO is trying to drive attrition. That is why quality of life (benefits... — read more

Drab, dull, and predictable

BNYM is like life in a sleepy Midwestern town -- the shady streets, the weekly lodge meetings, golf on Sunday morning, followed by a fried chicken dinner and an afternoon nap. And they wonder why they can't attract young talent. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Some things can't be repaired

Peakon Response

Layoffs??

More like trying to make conditions so bad that people quit so they don’t have to pay termination benefits. Effective 2023 BNY Mellon won’t even match 401k contributions until the end of the year so if you leave mid year - no match. Deep cutbacks... — read more

Roman Regelman is an a--hole

Love the threatening tone of the latest communication. If you don't come in 3 days a week, you will be subject to corrective action. This guy has Scharf all over his mug.

Unconcerned about the quality of the employees

I was really disappointed when I became aware of how little BNY Mellon now cares about the quality of its employees. I do not believe that they are not aware that some decisions alienate the best of the remaining employees. On the other hand, I... — read more
