Time to get back to office

Those of you who might frequent downtown building in H-town might have noticed today that crew were working in the second floor to set up more tables. Sounds like everyone will be back in office before the Thanksgiving.

HR selections

Has anyone heard who got selected to what roles? I am hearing they have 5 or 6 jobs that they cannot fill. We should have been notified by now.

Fidelity sux

I have been fighting with them for 2+ weeks to rollover my 401K. 6 phone calls, each gives different answers. Oh, I need two days to liquidate this. Oh, I need two days to liquidate that. Oops, we didn’t consider this or that. Finally on last... — read more

Farthest WFH

Who is working successfully in an exotic location far from home and office? I know a lady who left her Houston apt and is working from Scotland. She is up late, obviously. I heard about some San Ramon people who have Maui condos. Others?

Post layoff life insurance ??????

I was laid off 2016. I have maintained my pre-65 health insurance as a positive benefit. I have also been contributing to life insurance premiums as part of that package. I just turned 60 and my premium went up about 30%. To me, sunk cost in... — read more

Less flexibility then before COVID.

Curious to see if anyone else is seeing less flexibility in their work schedule (such as 4/10 not being honored) or very strict office hours. Seems like the maximum flexibility that was spoken about repeatedly has gone by the way side.

Time for Change HR?

RM has had her job for about 4 years. She’s wrecked the HR group. She has done nothing to hold a group of awful leaders accountable - HR for sure but also enables DP’s mess. There isn’t one thing can point to that is better under her watch. Maybe... — read more

Career High and Low point

Ex-Chevron dominate execs

If you read the Corp Exec bios, most were hired by Chevron. There four or five Unocal alumni and only one heritage Texaco. The Texacoids have essentially been run off and kept out of management. The Chevron people always looked down on them.

Any truth to the rumor that sjv will be going through yet another reorg? 50% drop in production without a commensurate reduction in opex. Town hall the other day hinted at drastic measures. What's coming?

Chevron to sell Eagle Ford. Nobile’s Denver basin is next. Then the Permian. You don’t need the overhead of a major corporation to factory drill shallow wells. The question is where will the moneys be reinvested?
