Capital projects

If LBs intent is to make sure there is no project function in Chevron she’s certainly on the way to achieving. Only ‘right’ opinion is hers, everyone knows to keep quiet and not contradict her

Monthly local pulse survey

I always enjoyed giving local management monthly input. Any office still doing this best practice? Success?

Contrarian for the sake of being contrarian

Somebody here says something bad about Chevron and everybody bites their head off, because how dare they! Somebody says something positive about Chevron and everybody bites their head off, again, because how dare they! People here are either all... — read more

MW in African garb?

Anyone else see that video of MW in a African garb? Instead of focusing on looking "woke" I think he should work on listening to the employees and work on the morals.

Thoughts on JG town hall

I personally felt it was out of touch from what us employees really feel. Every manager has over 30 people they manage now, and JG acting like that's unheard of is troubling to say the least.

What’s the deal with HR?

I’m new to Chevron and have seen a lot of posts on here about HR and RM. what exactly is going on that they are so frequently discussed? Sorry I’m so oblivious to it. Thanks!

Subsurface platform is a disaster

Who on the Subsurface platform is looking forward to another long winded "listen to your leader tell you how it is" ? Our leader, a petrotech, has no business trying to run a complicated modernization operation whilst cutting resources and... — read more

TPS

Why did the post about the disastrous TPS townhall this morning get deleted? If you missed it real time demonstration of J’s opinion is the only one that matters

Too many self-serving egomaniacs

The difference between Chevron when I started working here and Chevron now, is that there weren’t as many self-serving egomaniacs here before as there are now. Or does it just seem to me that there weren't that many before? They do everything... — read more

How about all these people who are wishing for layoffs and cuts be it for themselves or other people just do everybody a favor and quit? Why wish for things that would make hundreds of people lose their livelihood just because it would suit you? All... — read more

You’re all miserable people

Everybody on here is so miserable and entitled. We all make way more than we deserve and yet this site is just a nonstop flow of whining and moaning. Get a grip and be thankful we get paid absurd sums to do very little actual work. It’s unhealthy to... — read more

Supply and Trading

is this BU the only lucrative place to be in Chevron? bonus can vary from 2 - 9 months

I don't believe that will happen but...

I see that there are those here who think that Chevron will soon find itself in a situation where it has to start mass hiring again and fight for those that were previously laid off. What makes you think so? Are there any valid arguments for such... — read more

Hey DP, no more Covid townhalls?

I was really looking forward to the next dog & pony show to calm the fear, but alas I don't see any new meetings on the horizon. It's all rather interesting given that we've had reps from big pharma give their pitch, doctors give their take, and... — read more

9 / 80 has unofficially gone poof!

Chevron has cut so many jobs that everyone is having to work so many hours that basically the 9 / 80 work week has gone poof! Comments welcomed.

Everyone is replaceable

However, Chevron is not blessed with an abundance of employees that can combine technical/business knowledge, lead with vision, develop people and can actually close and deliver results. There has been a noticeable deterioration in morale... — read more

Exxon CEO Reacts to 2021 Shareholder Vote

to my colleagues at chevron, this is very very funny stuff if you understand the dated culture and systems at exxon, which are similar to chevron. https://www.captiongenerator.com/2254511/ExxonMobil-CEO-Reacts-to-2021-Shareholder-Vote

I'll tell you what's wrong in HR

There are 3 GM's that no one in HR wants to work for. They completely disregard the Chevron Way and treat their minions poorly. Lots of stories of how they mistreat people. They fight openly with each other all of the time. We know who they are... — read more

Finance

Finance people never complain on this site. Perhaps they are the only properly functioning group in all of Chevron.

Is this true?

I've heard of cases where people accepted promotions that came with relocation and were laid off within a year or two. It sounds a bit illogical and not likely to me but I have to ask, is this true? I've been made an offer but I'd hate to uproot my... — read more

Confirmed. No layoff in HR in 2021.

HR was planning on a 10% workforce reduction in 2021, however too many psg 20-24s are leaving on their own. RM expects 10 to 15 others by year end. Anyone in san ramon can leave with a 50% pay increase.
