Done waiting for severance

I’m done waiting around for this place to cut me loose. Staying here just ki-ls my self-respect - watching this company flail while pretending everything’s fine. I don't even care if I'll be earning as much somewhere else - the stress simply isn’t... — read more

Why all the negativity

Listen, everyone needs to just calm down about the re-org. It’s going to be different this time. But I know what you’re thinking, it the same leaders as last time, with the same game plan. But they’ll get it right this time okay. And if they don’t... — read more

Challenges in exploration

Waiting for positions to roll out

Revealing one org layer at a time isn’t helpful. We need to see how many positions are where they are located to understand the impact. Anyone have insight to that? Should be soon. Good luck to the managers that actually look out for their people... — read more

Talk about a proximity bias

The GM’s announcement was underwhelming; lots of same people who are already working with named VPs, etc. How is anything going to change?

Deepwater

I didn’t see PC, the deepwater director, in the new announcement. He is a decent guy.

I don’t know if it’s true, but a frag just informed me that a manager was having dinner in downtown this weekend. He mentioned that he saw several homeless people wearing clothing that appear to be from the refinery in El Segundo. It appears that... — read more

Why take a year? Consultant fees.

Transformation was done in one go. How is this more complicated like HR said? It’ll be torture for Wave 2 folks. Plus standing up orgs that aren’t complete. McK or EY probably recommended to drag out their fees. Well done, well done. See you... — read more

Wtf is a “digital analyst”?

Why do we have so many bullsh-t roles like that? Let’s cut those and all of scrum and agile RTE cr-p, along with advisors and PM/POs who just sit in meetings… before we cut actual roles like field engineers and IT folks, who we need. God i hate these... — read more

Exclude From Headcount

Heard from a source that 'exclude from headcount' selected as 'yes' under workday job details means you're out of scope for the reorg. Any truth to this? What about 'job exempt'?

Financial stats and motivation

I am late 40s with about $6.4m. I am wondering if I should stay, move on, or just stop. I am motivated to stay for now, but not completely sure why with all of the uncertainty. What is your financial position and what are you doing?

Layoff: What is taking so long?

I retired a few years ago and pop into this site a few times a year to catch up on what's happening with my former employer. It seems that a layoff has been imminent for years now. What am I missing? Was there a layoff last year, and is another one... — read more

Morale has hit a new low

The only time anyone cracks a smile is when they’re trashing the company or dreaming about unionizing.

I've accepted the reality of working here

Consequently, I've checked out. I no longer care if the reorg affects me or if I end up jobless. I came to terms with the fact that I could be laid off at any time, reorg or not. It can happen regardless of how hard I work, how dedicated I am, or how... — read more

How are you keeping track of what’s owed for severance- including vacation, R&As, etc. Do the automatically cut a check? do you get to verify the numbers first?

Why still sniveling?

I heard about layoffs 3 weeks ago. It is done or on-going still? Lot of chatter so far away from the announcement. Asking for many friends

Desperation drives bad behavior

The managers are battling it out as there are fewer jobs than the overpaid managers who just supervise and delegate. Work gets done without them and they are redundant. Hopefully the number of those positions are reduced. Managers make snarky... — read more
