This is not going to end well

I cannot wait for the fallout of this reorg. They have the same incompetent people who got us here by hiring other like minded simpletons to represent and restructure everything. It’s really sad but it’s the only way they’re going to learn is by more... — read more

IT Townhall Q&A

Can somebody please ask LC these questions on everybody’s mind on why his exec advisor KG has 100 E&Y “consultants” with the exact same background from GM, HP, Dell at the exact same times as LC. If all of these people quit GM at the same time…... — read more

Townhall TL;DR

To any meaningful questions you might have, our fearless leaders would like to offer you one, or any combination, of the following answers: “We don’t know yet” “That’s still being looked at” “We can’t say yet” You’re all caught up! — read more

Stay tuned for next week’s round of layoffs. Where the focus will be focused the next layer of the organization chart…Cause we have no idea ourselves.

For my hard working colleagues....

After 10 years in a corporate job, here are 25 lessons I wish I knew in my 20s. If you have a corporate 9-5 job, this one is for you: Negotiate the terms of every job offer The salary, days off & job title can always be changed Take the... — read more

Whoever asked in Subsurface TH about the value case for an EE to stay. My hero! What other rockstar questions have you heard??

MCBU Town hall

My guess is that they will only announce a couple of more levels of the organization today, not all of them. Thoughts?

Decisions when severed?

Watching the videos on severance and benefits brings up decisions to make. What’s the pros and cons on: pension: defer or pay out? At best, the increase if I wait is a little over 4%. Seems like I could do better if I withdraw the lump sum... — read more

Hunger Games

We need to flip this around. If the leaders want the hunger games, then let’s give them the hunger games. Push and speak up at every opportunity. Use these town halls to let them know that we’re calling their bs. Make their day worse than the... — read more

Do you think it is a large number of people that pushed the AEOI Button with just a basic severance?

Write Trump: Tax outsourced engineering

Maybe we should write our representatives and ask that the value of engineering services from India to American companies should be subject to a 200% tariff?

The basics and the staples

Chevron talks big on AI, yet we still have no clue about digital. In fact, let's scale back on digital and fix the fundamentals. How about you, boffins, help Notepad from not crashing now and then?

Town halls

Seems like every town hall is barely more informative than the last. You may only get one tiny tidbit out of each meeting. Hardly transparent or it just means they are being transparent and don’t have it figured out yet which is a whole other... — read more

Accountability

Imagine if the BOD took this stance. You get once chance to get it right (think reorg). If you don't produce after that, you're gone.

Select the right employees!

While changing processes, workflows and organizational charts can help, they're not as impactful as having employees with the right personality and performance. If we want strong performers, we should select employees with the highest number of... — read more

We’re talking about accountability. The first step in true accountability is admitting failure and taking ownership of one’s actions. Yet, ELT and Senior Leadership seem to believe that accountability applies only to employees, while leadership... — read more

PSG layoffs

I'm a PSG 19, been with the company 11 years. This is different-ish than the last reorg. Without BU's, does anyone have any ideas how we function without reporting to specific functions?

HESS acquisition

Anyone going over to the Exxon layoff site to read what they’re saying about CVX and the arbitration? It’s interesting.
