But there sure must be better ways to organize than having such rigid procedures, endless meetings and layers upon layers of mostly mediocre management. I can bet you that reorg will not address the vast majority of issues Chevron really has. Massive... — read more
What happens to accrued vacation hours if you EOI?
Are you paid out for any accrued hours? Or is the package purely based on years of service and the vacation hours don’t matter? I need to decide if I should be taking all my vacation in the next few months or not as I plan to volunteer for the EOI... — read more
Layoff and COBRA

Fresh speculation of merger with Exxon?
“Exxon and Chevron toyed with the idea of combining in 2020, when the cost savings might have been worth more than $20 billion. Consolidation makes sense in an increasingly taboo industry awash with crude, and the idea of a national champion created... — read more
They want us to quit
I think the end game for San Ramon is to be out by end of 2028. The story told in August was to get as many people to leave before they finalized the plans. They know most in San Ramon will not move to Houston. They need to restructure as many... — read more
Happy New Year!
.....or no..... What's your expectation from next year?
Can we trust anything that MW and ELT tell us?
It is now painfully obvious that the timeline that MW communicated at the SR Townhall will not be honored. It’s also obvious that he already knew what was going to happen with layoffs. So he flat out lied, right? Does anyone see it differently, and... — read more
Done with Chevron
Got a nice offer from another company. Not great, just nice. I decided early this year that I didn’t want to just sit around here and wait for months for the axe to fall. I started with a job search quite a while ago, and it has been a grueling... — read more
H1B is becoming a national discussion
Let's discuss
Wake up
I’m amazed at how many of you still believe you’re safe here, as if hard work guarantees anything anymore. I’ve seen enough over the years to know better. If you think this place will reward your loyalty, you’re only fooling yourselves. Denial won’t... — read more
Top Talent Regrets
We all know there’s haters for certain functions. But who would hate to see EOI from HR management?
I’m not looking forward to next year
They'll drag out the layoffs until we all go crazy.
It's getting closer
I know I shouldn’t be this excited about layoffs, but they’ve kept us in this exhausting limbo for so long that I just want it to be over already. At this point, I’m saying, bring it on! Let’s rip off the bandage and move forward, whatever the end... — read more

Public Affairs Campaign
I’ve seen more than a few Chevron ads come across various feeds saying something like “we contribute to your community by employing all these people.” Knowing how many engineering (and other) jobs are leaving…the hypocrisy is amazing.

Not enough people in some teams
My team needs several critical roles to be fulfilled. There doesn’t seem to be an intention to do it. With what’s coming next year, we may lose even more people. Workload is already becoming unmanageable as it is. The 'do more with less' approach... — read more
What happened to the Chevron Way?
Once prominent, now an afterthought? Comments please.
Chevron largely under expected pay of ENGINE Workers
Been interviewing ENGINE applicants for IT and FE roles, 90% of our offers are being rejected due to poor compensation. Upper management was sold on a false premise of slave labor in India and I hope it is realized externally.
Midland- Jump ship and let them figure it out!
Lot’s of opportunities in Midland. My advice, find a new job and let Chevron figure out how to run MCBU from India. I know I am already job shopping.
Severance payment timing? Anyone know how it works?
Anyone know the timing of severance payments? Can you defer it to the next tax year? Or, is there an automatic payout date XX days after you are terminated or sign the release?
They ruined a once great company
I used to feel genuinely proud to work at Chevron. Now, I’m indifferent at best. These days, I’m even lowkey hoping to get laid off so they’d force my hand and make me leave. I guess it’s true what they say: we’re not meant to like our jobs, just do... — read more
Based on the ENGINE postings, SAFe isn’t going away.

I wonder how well their plan worked

Anyone know how much we’re paying McKinsey?
$50MM in 2024 alone? More? How pathetic to work for a company that relies on BCG in 2020 and the McKinsey in 2024 like it will be any different. Go post on Glassdoor how pathetic this company is and how terrible it treats US workers.
How do you think MW is doing right now?
He’s about to lay off 5,000 American workers. Do you think he cares? Do you think it’s making his $400 bottle of Napa valley cab taste worse? Do you think he’s regretting his $30MM annual compensation?
GM data and insights gone?
The data whisperer guy that LC brought in left after only a couple months. What happened there? Couldn’t whisper Chevron’s data eh?
