Realistic Layoff Timeline

Yall im just a new grad and don’t know much, so can someone with more seniority / connections help me understand the axing timeline? I’ve heard Chevron gives 3-6 month heads up if you’re impacted, but can’t help but feel like things will be different... — read more

Isn’t it kind of weird how we’re laying off now?

During the last two reorgs (Alpha in 2015 and Transformation in 2020) we were losing billions and oil was below $40 bbl. Now crude is in the 70-80 range, the economy is strong, and we are raking in billions with all time high FCF. And this reorg... — read more

It’s such bullsh-t to call WFH people slackers

If someone didn’t do their job, that’s on managers. I can bet you that the same percentage of people slack in the office and at home. RTO/hybrid has been introduced for one reason only, and that’s attrition. With a need for direct, creepy kind of... — read more

Hybrid Christmas Parties

Didn't know it was going to be a Hybrid Christmas party. They only had seating for 1/2 the attendees. And what's with the drink tickets to get a Coke? Were so hard up we're limited the soft drinks? Guess they made it up with the Parking Fees.

Number of 3+ exceeds

What is the percentage limit on the number of 3 or 4 exceeds that can be given this year out of the overall population? I heard that there was a limit established this year. Worked really hard this year and have tangible results to show with strong... — read more

IT Holiday Party....

Did AG have an entire roll of drink tickets that she used up. Calling people out, hollering into the microphone all to get people to dance. Then we have MC LC for five minutes to show up say hi, happy holidays, go home after this and then exited... — read more

My guesses on culture reset

I think nobody (including leaders) are ready for candid feedback, that needs to change. 2. We have a culture on paper (the CVX Way) and we have our real culture which is where the majority of leaders don't exhibit it and are generally rewarded... — read more

California Time Away Benefits Call

Is anyone else listening to the dumpster fire Teams call about California time away benefits? Not only are they not recording the call, which is incredible, given how important and complex this topic is, but the presenter has exhibited a truly... — read more

Foggy reorg

I’m beginning to think that they still have no clue how to do the reorg. They know how they will cut the costs. Not really a difficult thing to do when you target employees first and look at just how much each one of them cost the company. Merit... — read more

Waiting for the fallout

I’ve been working non-stop, taking on the tasks of multiple people for over a year. If they let me go, my team would be scrambling, and they’d need at least two people to fill my shoes. Truthfully, I wouldn’t mind if it happened. Watching everything... — read more

Hooray for Bollywood

Rumors suggest that there's a chevron inspired remake of the lord of the rings. Apparently they're arguing over the precious representing dividends or managers bonuses. All are aligned on filming in India to save costs.

Reality for San Ramon folks

Thought exercise. If the reduction target is as high as other post suggested, probably most if not all of the cut would be from San Ramon to save on relocation package.

Commercial: slash and burn

Anyone have any idea of the cut targets once they combine D/S, M/S and Chems commercial and VCO groups? Axeman may be sharpening his blade right about now.

OO Townhall

Looks like the 30% number for finance was accurate (for the US). 10% overall including FSS. Sounds like they’re trying to eliminate BU finance and centralize anything that’s not “decision analyst” support. Curious how they define that. Overall a... — read more

UK expats on the block?

How can we justify having UK expats in Houston during a massive layoff? I get it, the base salary is roughly 70% of US payroll at the same PSG. However, when you add up the other benefits of UK payroll (eg. car allowance, 20+% contribution to... — read more

Corporate Affairs Future?

Many posts about IT and Finance -- any ideas of how Corporate Affairs will fare in the reorg and layoff game? More centralization? Less focus on legislation with Trump in office? How will Chevron fight changing public opinion?

Worst CEO and ELT Team?

Is our current ELT team the worst in Chevron history and and in the industry? When layoffs and outsourcing is your only lever to pull we have terrible "leaders".

San Ramon Timeline

Given some of the info that’s trickling out about 2025 layoffs, like the Finance update, did they just straight up lie and set false expectations when they communicated the HQ move timeline? This is wrong on so many levels.

A few posts here are referencing a hybrid email that was sent but I didn’t receive anything. Care to share who the audience is for the email and who sent it? Thanks!

The way hybrid will be rolled out will not be fair

The program itself is fair, the way that Chevron management will communicate it / roll it out / justify it will not be. They will gaslight everyone into thinking this is a data driven approach when they clearly have seen employee morale is in the... — read more

Honestly the new hybrid program is fair

If you are psg 26+ you should be doing the type of collaborative work where M-TH is required. Let the rest of the folks come in three days a week. I say this as a PSG 26 who would prefer wfh personally.

Countdown to End of Hybrid

How much longer do us non LTIP peons have to enjoy hybrid? Or does this mean they’re laying off everyone below 26?
