Enterprise Wide Reorg

All indicators based on what Mike is saying there will be more layoffs enterprise wide. Didn't he say they weren't going to do that anymore after the layoff to end all layoffs in 2020? Can we trust anyone above our direct supervisor, if that?

Don’t go to the parties..

Skip the holiday parties. Don’t socialize with leaders that don’t care about you and will fire you tomorrow. Don’t feed their egos. It won’t help you in the layoffs.

iT Layoffs

There's a lot of IT comments trickled through each post. Let's keep it in the family. I'll start by saying IT has been a sh1t show since ImagineIT. Our great leaders took everything bad about the old ITC model and created something even worse. Here... — read more

Fix the Real Problem

CVX is a multi-billion dollar company that is run off of siloed excel spreadsheets. These sheets are reinvented every 2 or 3 years as managers and staff are rotated from positions they have just barely started to learn, to positions they don’t know... — read more

That is why RM was fired .... Culture

I really believe MW words about the need to change in culture and I think they are serious about it. Unfortunately, it took too many losses and even fatalities to come to this conclusion. The DEI only helped three categories, white women, black women... — read more

Selection process - Popularity contest?

Man, I’m really wondering if this time they’ll actually factor in education and experience during the selection process. Feels like there are so many so-called 'leaders' out there with zero legit education or real experience, just making mess after... — read more

Please help me understand “The Chevron Paradox”.

I have joined Chevron as mid career almost 2 years ago, and since the very beginning I have been taking mental note of all those (MANY) people that keep emphasizing how hard they work, how understaffed their team is, how the 2020 layoffs decimated... — read more

Why would someone take a pay cut to leave?

A coworker did this and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it. I enjoy working here. It's decent pay, interesting tasks, and a team that's easy to get along with. Sure, layoffs are often hanging over us, but is that really enough to make... — read more
