when are they going to announce the re-org?

Everybody is just waiting for it, speculating and it erodes productivity. Lets get it over with and announce it and finish it in 3 months tops so that people can move on and focus on either finding a new job or doing their chevron job.

Have we been hacked?

Did others receive this message, and does it mean that we have been hacked? I got it last night, and I have not received any further updates. Does it seem like too much of a coincidence that this text was sent in the same week as the ENGINE... — read more

Chevron is a career dead end

I quit chevron 2 years ago. I spent 17+ years believing the message. The PDC sponsors. Full of S***. Watched non qualified people get the roles I had for on my career development plan for years. I joined Chevron as an experienced hire qualified for... — read more

Severance Packages from Previous Downsizing Events

Can anyone recall the severance packages offered during the last two major downsizing events (Project Alpha and Transformation). I believe they differed—specifically, the Alpha event offered 2 weeks of salary for each year of service (I think). What... — read more

When do you think we will start seeing positions open for Bengaluru location? Any insights from the townhall?

Abu - Australia

What’s the latest news in Australia. I’ve been on my off swing in Bali

I hope this doesn't get dragged out for too long

I'd rather know if I'm laid off today than have to think and worry about it for the next who knows how long. It's not as if a few days or weeks are going to mean much in "preparing" for being jobless. You either have enough savings or you don't... — read more

ENGINE working or not?

All this talk about lofty goals, success and the ENGINE working. But what happens when the ENGINE doesn’t work? How will the inept leaders regain trust?

Age and high pay are a liability

If you are over 50 and have high pay (well earned, but that makes no difference) you're a walking target. Even outside the jobs being moved overseas, Chevron will be looking to replace highly paid workers with cheaper ones here in the country, often... — read more

Should MW get moved to India as well

When the HESS deal falls through and Exxon beats Chevron there as well, who is to blame then? There have been several "retirements" announced which seem like damage control. Might be time to ask the old guy to join the ENGINE movement and find a... — read more

For all I care they can move whole Chevron elsewhere

Already found another job last month. Saw this coming from a mile away. And lo and behold, a new gig comes with better pay, benefits and work-life balance. I don’t even have to drive 45 miles to work. But I wonder if the perks, benefits and joke of a... — read more

CHECK ENGINE

The Halliburton hack is a good example that assuming skilled engineering, programming, and operational positions are commodities and all interchangeable is not a smart business move. Chevron can't compete here to attract the best and brightest, it's... — read more

Health and Saftey in India

I think its hilarious we are moving things like Health and Safety to India. They have a great record on health and the safety. If you want to see their safety culture look up the Bhopal disaster. 50

ENGINE Townhall

They’re moving repeatable work to India. Why not just automate it if it’s so repeatable? They say that the India office will standardize processes. We’ve been trying to do that for decades, but BUs don’t allow it to happen. How will India have any... — read more

Who's got a better chance of being laid off?

I'm asking those who've been here long enough to know how layoffs usually work at Chevron. Are oldies or newbies in more danger when it comes to layoffs? My last company usually followed the "last one in, first one out" rule, which is making me quite... — read more

If they ask, I'll volunteer

No hard feelings here. I don't hate Chevron, I'm just ready to move on to the next step of my career. If I can do it with the help of a nice severance package, even better. I know a few others who feel similarly to me, so hopefully all of us get a... — read more

MW Can’t survive without the employees

If enough employees wanted to get rid of MW and MN, they could not produce for a while to show that the leadership has lost the company. The board would make changes.

Survey results

at least parking will be easier

ENGINE: When all else fails, copy Exxon

I’m still astonished that today’s email so flatly states we were doing this because Exxon/others already have. It’s such an amazing admission of inept leadership. There isn’t a way you can slice this that does show poor leadership performance. We’re... — read more

Engineers

Does anyone know what engineering jobs would move to India? Someone just give insight if you know already.

Do we have a clue how many will be cut overall?

I’m polishing my resume right now. Also, I’m not training my replacement. I would if they would pay me extra for that, consultant fee per hour. I’ll make sure I’m already having another job lined up by then.

Congress

If you are tired of this stuff contact your congressman. Only way this stuff will stop some day. Only takes 5 minutes. https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
