China and Citibank

So what’s going to happen with china. Is Citibank going to pull out of china or what. Many companies leaving china during this trade war. Why is citi continuing business as usual ?

Microaggression

It shows up in how you speak, how you write, even how you present. One grammar slip or tone difference becomes a target. This isn’t inclusion.

Community banks / small banks

Has anyone left Citi for a community bank? Or a smaller bank? This question likely better suited for us employees I’m so over Citi I’m looking at smaller places. So curious on differences. Would assume limited opportunities at a smaller place. But... — read more

Public Cloud at Citi

How's the public cloud migration going so far? Barely any workloads have been migrated and it's substantially more expensive than anyone estimated, and only getting more expensive.

Burned out

Few months in citi, I've already burned out. Never worked in such an environment, fake requirements, dead projects, figure it out after I get it done. Even Got a warning by my boss, punished by working hard? Bonus for laziness. Looking for layoff... — read more

Citi ROCKS!!!!!

Stable job, great pay with huge bonus, reasonable hours. My colleagues and I wear a polo shirt with the Citi logo on it and take a group photo in the lobby every week. The worse day of the week is Friday because we have to wait two days until Monday... — read more

Citi beats 1st quarter expected

It looks like Jane's strategy of slashing jobs and the personal devastation that goes with losing work was all worth it because the market is back up for Citi. Hope the ride on your hellbound train is worth it Jane.

U.S. Layoffs first 2 weeks of May

Layoffs are imminent, to be communicated first 2 weeks of May. Heard directly from leaders in BAU groups as well as revenue generating groups of Citi. If you are planning any big purchases or vacations and have not already booked I would hold off

Strange days.

Re-org(s) still in flux. Will I or will I not still be here? Upper management bonus’s at risk. Will they or will they not layoff to recoup the bonus? China tariff’s in play. Will we pull out of China altogether or risk staying? They came out with a... — read more

After the Bora Bora layoffs, I recall we had

A meeting with our group head and he told us then that the layoffs for that project were over and if you're still here, that means "we chose you. We believe in you ". So, what he was saying is they, (managers) actually do decide who they want to keep... — read more

Not exactly inspiring confidence

This place is a revolving door for managers - three in six months. It’s truly exhausting trying to keep up with new bosses every other month. At this point, I just assume anyone in charge won’t last. Really makes you wonder what’s happening behind... — read more

What's happening with the OCC??

Does anyone know what the outcome was after the OCC quarterly visit last month? It seems to be a hush hush situation in tech. Probably more regulatory fines popping up soon or something.

Citi is hiring spree again?

Many new hires in the last two weeks. What’s going on with Citi? Does it mean layoffs will be happening to get rid of current employees only then replace by higher cost lower skilled new hires? Citi’s way?

Watching folks ignore the obvious is painful

Automation and outsourcing are wiping out jobs fast. This entire industry will shrink. Yet so many just wait, hoping it won’t hit them. Learning new skills now is the only real move. Not later, not someday, but today. Your family will thank you. — read more

What am I missing?

Every week, another person leaves. This place isn’t perfect, but it’s far from the worst. Yet people keep leaving like it’s a sinking ship. Outside of layoffs, are they seeing something I’m not? I don’t love it here, but I don’t hate it either. If... — read more

How can FTE handle Contractors if they reluctant to work?

We need to have some proper procedure to escalate on contractors if they are not working or not taking responsibility of their work. Some managers not even try to manage them properly , not sure if they get any share of contract.

What is strategy if you are a manager?
