Now that Citi layoffs are over…..

It’s fun to look at the other boards. Holy cow at JPM. Toxic as sh-t. Trolls running amock. Very entertaining in a train wreck type of manner. Makes me appreciate my sh---y bank even more.

Pointless Town Hall Meetings

Oh yippie! More Town Hall BS. How can these people even stand to do these meetings? I just let it play in the background. lol. Our AI is not as good as what they are making it out to be. It su-ks really compared to other companies. Additionally, when... — read more

Too complex Internal Mobility process why?

It months to say yes or no , even for candidates with in Citi , why system is too complex, this is one of the main reason Citi downfall. HR should act fast and push managers to give feedback and close.

A Request to Citi HR

Many consultant-hired employees lack proper education, and their work histories are often fabricated. Citi only reviews the past 5-6 years of experience, so a full employment history review is recommended. Additionally, please assess all DEI... — read more

Let me tell you something

Our CFO just sold Citi stocks, day after it was reported his compensation That means FED is going to cut rates Easy money over

AI taking over the corp world.

I’ve read a few articles from different authors stating that AI can be and will be easily trainable to take over the lower positions. The example they used is, believe it or not, HR. The HR formulas of thought are easy. If this happens, then fill... — read more

Reshuffling or Layoffs?

What's going on with risk and controls? Seems to be a lot of changes, reshuffling in Q1, and long periods of OOO? Probably due to data moving under Ash and his team. They are probably like WTF!

Brace for impact

It's the layoff season again at $#iti. My manager called me this morning to read out the standard script... We're sorry, it wasn't an easy decision and the same cr-p they keep saying about simplification. For anyone else who has been impacted, be... — read more

Over It!

JF gets a huge raise and others get barely cost of living. Managers/Directors/MDs are incompetent and say they want to hear what's going on and proposals for improvement then are non-responsive and nasty. People are just down right RUDE a$$holes... — read more

All of these attacks on Jane, yet

When you see her on townhall meetings, or in the lobby or elevator, everyone is smiling and happy to be in her "glory presence ". Such phoniness!

Flat Compensation Year

It is super frustrating having to tell my team that compensation was flat this year but our CEO received a crazy big raise.

THERE IT IS….as predicted in this parody of McKinsey which is Jane’s roots. 33% increase in pay for her.

https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1vXqD3Xl Notice Jane Fraser’s picture on the wall. Then notice the breakdown later on of the pay. “Laying off people at the bottom of the company and giving tha money to those at the top.” “Hey, that’s me, that’s me at... — read more

Inefficient processes

Please comment here about specifc processes/departments that are inefficient. I've noticed that the end-to-end project delivery life cycle is wrought with duplication and lack of clear process ownership. I'm wondering what other processes are... — read more

Too Outdated

Citi employees , managers (SVP's , D's and MD's) in Tech divisions are too outdated. They spend more time in politics rather than spawning new projects and providing technical leadership and guidance. I personally think SVP role can be completely... — read more

Trump to become more restrictive on offshoring?

They keep mentioning it in the news that the commander in chief is casting his eyes over becoming more restrictive on offshoring hires. Now what ‘more restrictive’ means, I have no idea. I mean what could he possibly do? What options does he have... — read more

Hiring vs retaining talent suggestion.

Instead of hiring people who eventually quit, how about finding out why the current ones don’t want to stay. Maybe this is too way out there, too big of an ask.

DEI

What will happen to the DEI programs, especially in light of the recent trends where many organizations are rolling back their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives...

It’s not personal.

Just because it does not work out for you at Citi, does not mean its not working out for others. Its not all bad and even if it is, then leave. Simple as that. It is what I’m doing right now. There are some things that aren’t working out for me... — read more

No Raise for Lateral Moves

I was just told by my recruiter there are no longer salary increases when staying in the same job level. They said there is no exception to it either. It is a new policy they are rolling out. We were always able to negotiate some money before... — read more

Internal Mobility to a Previous Team

Hi, I'm in the Grad analyst program of 2 years in 2 teams and I would like to move to my previous team before I graduate from the program, since my current team is sh---y. Does anyone know if it is possible to do that?

Finally, a decision that makes sense.

As has been mentioned time and time again, if you can’t pay adequate comps the easiest and cheapest thing you can do is let your people work from home. Its a win all the way around. Employees get to save money on travel, lunch, auto wear and tear... — read more

When is Layoff Happening

When is layoff happening, this month or next. With $600 milion reserved it would seem like another 7k to 10k layoff and only in first quarter. Are people getting calls and laid off. Are they targeting people who work remote, on leave, near... — read more

Did executives just see AI language processors and the likes and think BAAM we can put it to work, replace workers, and save us money?

It seems they think it's that simple from the whole rhetoric around it. Do they even realize Citi is far from having the talent to implement it and even if it did at one point, it might be always too much risk to use it as they might be envisioning... — read more

We were told no more promotion for excellence of work but only for change of responsibility. But what happened to the 8500 promoted this year?
