Layoffs in NY

I haven’t seen any WARN notices go out in NY. Layoffs must be limited so far.

More Woke DEI BS

In the midst of mass layoffs, Citi is more concerned with 'inclusive language' and trying to be like Google. Anyone else see that ridiculous CTI announcement banning words like whitelist, master contracts, etc. What a joke this place has become.

Internal Audit

Has anyone from IA been laid off as yet? If so, how was it done? Was HR and chief auditor/or directors involved in the meeting?

Just Do It

I'm sorry, but this is kind of ridiculous. The company needs to just go on and be honest with people. Do what you say you're going to do so people can move on with their lives. Enough of the rumors and leaking stuff to the media.

Why drag it out?

You can't tell me they couldn't notify everybody today. Why drag it out for basically a full week and let us stress over it even longer? Not to mention, some people will find out they lost their jobs a day or two before Thanksgiving. How... — read more

Here we go

Let's see if today is really the day or if we'll have to wait even longer to learn if we still have a job or not.

HR monitoring or not.

I wonder if HR combs through these posts daily, correlates comments and feeds them straight to the upper echelon for consumption. Does anyone have any insight on this?

It reminds me of South Park underwear gnomes episode.

Youtube that episode and compare. Step 1: Steal underwear Step 3: Make money. What’s step 2? No one knows. Gotta sell the layoffs to the board in January as a true win. A hail Mary attempt to keep the board from voting her out. I do have my... — read more

Was Stuart Riley fired?

Stuart Riley is Co-CIO , we just received an email that he is leaving the firm. Did he just leave or was he fired?

I joined Citi in April

That puts me at just over half a year here. This is the second major layoff in that period. Being one of the last ones to join, my stress levels are through the roof once again waiting to see what's going to happen. The worst thing is, I had other... — read more

Anyone knows if layoffs will be announced this week? If so, which day? I wonder if it would be a last min meeting or they’d schedule in advance?

Industry heads on the block

No more industry heads and coneheads, that is the word. The title has lost its meaning at Citi due to the sheer abundance of these roles.

Slow motion train wreck

Who thought this long drawn out process would be a good idea? Plain Jane? This is absolutely incredible. I am assuming it was leaked and threw a monkey wrench in their plan, otherwise this is bottom barrel management.

Here's some perspective on the final layoff count

Wells Fargo has cut 40,000 jobs in the past three years, and according to this article, they show no signs of stopping. Citibank, on the other hand, is in a much worse position efficiency-wise, and the company has been struggling for over a decade. I... — read more

Laughable vicious cycle

So Citi “tries” to meet the market standard when it comes to salary for top talent. They are at best low to average in that area. Then later, they decide to layoff or run off people for whatever reason. Often times they run off people making the... — read more
