The tech job market is oversaturated

I didn't use to have any issues with the thought of being laid off because I always knew finding a new job would be relatively easy. Plus, a decent severance is always a plus. I don't feel that way anymore. Try applying for jobs now and see how many... — read more

No one has regrets about leaving

I'm glad that people are better off then they were here, but at the same time it's kind of sad not knowing a single person who regrets leaving Dell. At least I don't know anyone, do you? It seems that nobody who leaves here would ever come back. — read more

No layoffs for now, but...

Isn't it obvious how the company is trying in every way to get as many people as possible to leave voluntarily? People can no longer tolerate pressure, being underpaid and general lack of respect.

What was decisive in your decision to leave?

I'm still hesitating whether to accept a slightly worse offer or stay here. I'm feeling tired and under a lot of pressure here, but on the other hand, starting somewhere else from scratch after so many years here can also be very stressful.

Too many faults here

let me lay out facts: a. layoffs can be any date. Does not need to fall under any company and/or Myan calendar. b. preferably not on Mondays or Fridays and before noon is the golden rule. c. big layoffs usually are preceded with an announcement... — read more

There is a lot of tension

People are hoping that there won't be layoffs even though everyone has a hunch that there will be, because it would be very strange for Dell to be exempt from the layoffs that are happening in the industry. Managers use this tense atmosphere to... — read more

Are you polishing your resume?

I always take rumors with a grain of salt but they should not be ignored. Recently, there have been many rumors floating around that major layoffs are imminent. Perhaps it's best to polish your resume and start applying elsewhere, just in case.

I wish they would bring back the VSP!

I took the VSP in 2014 and came back a few years later, best thing I ever did. The VSP would let the people that aren’t happy leave and the others could keep their jobs. Won’t happen but I wish I did!

How safe do you think your job is?

There is a lot of debate here whether layoffs are around the corner or not. I don't know, but I notice that there is more anxiety than ever. If you're a job seeker, perhaps the best advice is to keep looking.

People pray to get laid off

It speaks volumes about the atmosphere in this company that many actually wish to end up on the layoff list. It seems that there are more people who would like to be laid off than those who would like to stay here? It's terrible.
