While I'm not sure "huge" is correct, i can confirm its happening. I was just laid off last week and my mentor let me know he's doing layoffs this week in his org as well. Dunno how large, but it's definitely going on.

Dell is Emperor's New Clothes
So we have an incompetent global SMEs who would call a dog a dragon and for whatever unethical reasons the senior exec will say the same thing and the directors and managers will agree. Just like emperor's new clothes. Everyone sees a fact presented... — read more
I don't believe we'll have layoffs this week
I know people are saying major layoffs are coming sometime this week, but I call bull. I don't remember that we ever had layoffs immediately after Memorial Day, and I doubt Dell is about to start now. I'm not disputing we'll have more layoffs, but it... — read more
Singapore SDC closing down in 2019
Just got word from bro at the EDB that the government won't renew the tax deal with Dell in 2019. That means it becomes too expensive for SDC to be viable and very like SDC will close down after 2019!
There is a HUGE round of WFR coming next week

May end Layoffs in Storage is going to be big
The annual ritual culling date is just a week away. Layoffs are going to be huge this time. Indications have come that it is going to be a crosssite exercise. This will be by far the biggest sacrificial orgy in EMC history. The countdown begins.

Any takes on how Data Protection would evolve under JC's vision ?
Apparently, there is a new vision in place from JC that avoids product overlap and focuses on a single data protection product going ahead. Clearly not all of Avamar, NetWorker and eCDM would continue to be developed. That would be a big impact to... — read more

Leave or stop complaining!
First, I am a realist. Dell has more good employees (including management) than bad just like most other companies. The pay is fair, work there for a few years and try to leave, in this market you will probably take a pay cut. With no college degree... — read more

PowerMAX
I hear glowing words on the new NVMe array PowerMAX which ascends from VMAX . It is a kick-a-- machine which will utterly destroy Pure and Infinidat aspirations toward the high end, 7-sigma storage. Opinions?
question
I heard that Dell is requiring employees to use their personal social media accounts to advertise for the company. They're told they have to or they won't get far with the company. Anyone else hear that?
This might be why MSD likes being a private company.

Attrition cancels the need for layoffs
Reality is, given the uncertainty and hostile work environment in many groups the attrition rate is high enough to reduce or even negate the need for layoffs. Most the people I know that had 5 or more years tenure @ Dell, myself included, have left... — read more

Engineers, do not apply to be engineers, instead apply to be managers, we need more thought leaders. Enough with incompetent management unable to identify potential and understanding the internet.
