This morning, 8 DataDomain employees laid off in RTP. New dell-rules are that you get to continue working for 2 weeks. Severance is 10 weeks + 1week/year of service.
Dont' listen to rumors
Yet... IMHO - Dell will make the cuts before the end of their fiscal Q2 (end of July). They need to do this as they are currently bleeding money, which needs to stop. The call will be made, and the number of employees that are needed to be cut are... — read more

Impossible Sales Targets.
Unrealistic incentivising of employee performance can go terribly awry this was seen in Wells Fargo’s. If you set your Sales Goals out of reach for your team then even your top performers can't even reach them it, they become switched off and don't... — read more
Dell needs to clean house
They should clean house of that useless layer of good ole boy managers who have been around since the DG days and have never had one new, fresh or innovative idea. They just kiss *** up the chain and that works, they haven't ever had to worry about... — read more

Maybe...
Maybe if they stopped wasting money - that would help! Flying managers and non- managers all over the place to meet with coworkers - when in all honesty - video chat while not as personable is a whole lot cheaper and works!! Just saying.
In sales no layoff just a huge number
The targets for customers are so high in our unit that people have given up going after deals. Morale is terrible. Bringing in the biggest deal wont get you there and just means you will be punished next quarter Sales don't get layoffs they get a... — read more

Was moved from Nashua exit 8 office to EqualLogic building in exit 1. What a culture shock, most freelancing environment. Haven't experience anything this bad. Bad air, bad employees and very bad morale and haven't seen any work being done. There is... — read more
Not sure why ppl thought July 12th. I've been hearing October
It's a verifiable fact that Dell has amassed half a billion in cash to pay severance for massive layoffs to come, but I've never heard anything about July. Everyone I know says October is when the axe gets dropped on all their heads.
Rumors are Rumors
I agree there is a lot of misinformation going on in this site. I think there are a lot of people from both competition and disgruntled employees venting at the frustration of what is going on. I don't think there will be major layoffs like before... — read more

Prepare for the cuts
Are we getting pay cuts in addition or instead of layoffs?
