PIP the Custodians

How do you decide to clean 3 of the same gender bathrooms in one building at the same time?

How low can we go?

Any guesses what the "bottom" will be? I'm thinking it'll easily be less than $100 by the end of today (April 4-7-2025) Curious to see how this gets turned around for America. I'm thinking 45-47 is going to get PIP'd!

It's the leadership's fault

The best people here used to give extra effort, but not anymore. Leadership pushed too hard and broke whatever was left. If you want to see why Exxon turned form a great employer into one of the worst ones, just look at its leadership. There's your... — read more

From commoner to exec

So I’m hearing of a person who had enough confidence and sponsor to say they want to be an exec. They were told no. Now what?

What’s going on?

I heard that the company has lost two employees to su----e in the last few months. What is going on?

Now it’s time for acquisitions

The majors will be acquiring companies including drillers, chemical, plastic plants, and power producers. All companies are on sale, it’s a fire sale. Exxon, Chevron, Oxy, BP, Shell, and Saudi will be buying smaller competitors at a discount. Buy... — read more

Rank Groups

I heard some 2024 rank groups included CL 20-29. Are supervisors and their direct reports assessed in the same group? If so, how does this play out in the ranking meeting?

BTC Expats in Newfoundland

So many BTC expats in Newfoundland now. How about Calgary? Do you have them there as well? Why can’t we hire Canadians?

How did UK layoff play out?

For those with direct knowledge how was this communicated? I expect the same thing is coming for USA, Canada, and Australia.

South Hook LNG Terminal sale

How long before South Hook is sold like Adriatic LNG? With Qatar no longer valuing ExxonMobil (at their own peril I would add) isn’t it sooner rather than later? Will be interesting to watch Qatar try to operate aging facilities with integrity issues... — read more

Chief of site after 5 years at BTC

How does an employee with five years company and 15 years total experience become an IT chief of site at the BTC? The technical ladder is dead. Being a chief is meaningless now

Does the Babble Effect Exist at ExxonMobil?

The person who talks the most is the most likely to become the leader. Regardless of intelligence and expertise, groups elevate those who command the most airtime. ***It's time to stop rewarding people for dominating the discussion and start valuing... — read more

Another Senior Vice President

The top layer continues to expand. Why do we have another SVP being named? What is he even over? How do we invent new SVP roles out of thin air? Crazy how these Australians have managed to get promoted so quickly.

DW and DA pump and dump stock strategy

I really believe DW and DA are trying to pump the stock before dumping it and exiting. Every choice they make destroys the future in favor of short lasted near term gains.

Selling beachfront property to DE and DA

Who sold DW and DA on the lie that Permian recovery is going to be doubled? Do they really believe it or are they just trying to pump the stock before they dump it?

The problem with Guyana and Permian

Both Guyana and Permian have increased GOR and WOR problems. Obviously we drilled the best wells first so the economics get worse not better over time. Sadly we have nothing else and DW and DA don’t understand the upstream well enough to do anything... — read more
