Another Ford Management Failure

Another cancelled vehicle, and another large lawsuit payment due. This is why Ford is terminating employees, management can’t do anything right: Ford Motor Co will stop selling the Transit Connect van in the United States by the end of next year and... — read more

People near retirement seem to be the main target

They are not the only target, but from what I can see so far they seem to make up the majority of those who are affected. Which is especially despicable on Ford's part. Trying to save money on some of the most loyal employees who've been here the... — read more

For those that got let go, how were you contacted?

Do your upper management send out a meeting invite or were you IM'ed for an on the spot meeting? I feel sorry for those that lost their jobs and the way the company approached this. The uncertainty of not knowing is ki----g me.

Returning equipment?

Outside of a laptop, do you return the peripherals (headset, mouse, keyboard, etc.) you buy with points? I want some bonus swag.

This is just a means to get rid of US employees

Fools. I do think they've got the EVs segregated in a separate company under Ford that will make it easy to flush the whole works when the EV idea goes T.U. in about five years. EVs cannot happen. There isn't and never can be enough electricity to... — read more

It's not over

It will not be over tomorrow or on Wednesday. Count on an entire week of layoffs. And even then it won't be over because this is not even half of what we know is coming. The only question at this point is whether the next round will arrive next week... — read more

Any sense in hiring a lawyer?

Any sense at all in trying to have a lawyer review the package? I mean, Michigan is an at-will state. All a lawyer will do is look at it, say it seems fair and then charge you a few hundo. I'm tempted just to cover my bases, but surely someone has... — read more

Did I get this right?

Employees who have been here seven years and those who have been here less than a year all got two months' severance? How is that fair? I'm not saying that people who joined recently shouldn't get severance, but those who've been here for six-seven... — read more

I'd like to believe that it's over

I'd like to, but I can't. They kept laying off until the last minute of working hours, which makes me believe there's more left for the next two days. I don't think anybody got any actual work done today and I honestly don't know how any of us will... — read more

Cut

I got mine this morning. Power steering engineering so not ICE work directly. I got 1 month severance. Ford also says I can never work for them again. Contractor or otherwise, too. I was a year away from vesting my 401k match, which was roughly half... — read more

Layoff Criteria?

In general, what is the criteria for laying off? Tickets closed? Hours at keyboard?

Have any depts gotten an All Clear signal?

I'm in credit and cuts seemed to be all over the damn place today. Impossible to tell if specific areas/people were targeted first or how they'd rotate to other depts over the next few days. Has anyone been informed that cuts are totally done for... — read more

“Ineligible for re-hire”

Anyone else informed during separation that they will be ineligible for future opportunities down the line?

Let Go on Vacation Day

Got a meeting today on my vacation day off at 4pm and was told I’m being let go. Yup, they stooped to that level.

Try to move to STELLANTIS.

I hope everyone is very satisfied there. Not a single post on their site past three years. Now they are profitable and strong. I guess only they will survive out of the big three.

This sucks

I don't work here, just wanna ask for prayers that my Dad doesn't get cut. He's almost to retirement and it would be devastating to our family if he gets laid off :(

Another one

I just quit I hate being always played to the max so I quit sorry to all of you who still have to fear that you will lose your job

Best way to OE; Laid off with severance.

Ford was J2 for me of 3 total. Today is a dream getting paid 2 months severance. Mission Accomplished. If you are in IT never commit to any one job when you can make triple.

Agency: Lost systems minutes before "the call"

Was checking my email on phone after 5pm and Microsoft was just constantly refreshing on the sign in attempt. Went to the PC and VPN worked but couldn't access email. Then I got the call on my personal phone. Good luck everyone! Nobody deserves... — read more

My 2 Cents (from a Ford Veteran)

I sailed off into the sunset at the end of the year last year, but I've been watching with a close eye what's going on. Now you could say I was a metrologist of sorts during my tenures. So I gotta say, the numbers don't add up. I put them into my... — read more

Tuesday

Is tomorrow supposed to be a continuation of the bloodbath? Are they contacting the people that were on vacation today? What’s the agenda? Does anyone know? Seems like it was fast and furious today.

Some teams were halved

How exactly are they supposed to continue functioning? Will those who stayed be expected to pick up all the extra work themselves?

How to identify who was let go

The last line in the CDS LOOK-UP shows the time date stamp update. Any personnel that were updated on 0822 have been let go.

What a waste of money and energy!

Don't get me wrong - in no way do I justify the layoff of long-term employees but to some extent I can understand why they are a target, given that the ultimate goal is to cut costs as much as possible. However, I hear that among the cut... — read more
