Salaried Involuntary Reduction Process

One can search the online benefits Life@Ford for the involuntary SIRP program "KA-06993". It does not, however list the # of months of salary/medical benefits that comprise the Salaried Income Security Plan.

Their plan is working

Several of my coworkers who had no plans of leaving before have started applying after the layoffs announcement and one of them just gave in his notice yesterday. If their goal was to get people to quit by keeping us guessing and stuck in limbo, then... — read more

THE ball drop day will be Aug 17

Most of the higher LL's in PD have 4 PM to 5 PM tomorrow 8-16 as private on their calendars. This tells me that the ball will drop on the 17th.

Notice near Ford Credit Parking Lot

I have been told that the Ford Credit parking lot near the vehicle service center has a notice telling not to park in the lot because they expect a lot of management lease vehicles returning back. Can anybody living close by in Dearborn confirm if... — read more

One Of The World's Most Ethical Companies

Would One Of The World's Most Ethical Companies violate the Federal WARN Act by eliminating personnel in a series of unannounced firings to avoid public reaction ? Would One Of The World's Most Ethical Companies cynically take advantage of "job... — read more

Negative effects of downsizing?

I'm trying to imagine what Ford will look like after these layoffs. What do you think? I survived the 2019 layoffs even though I thought I would definitely be cut. I would say that after every round of layoffs it gets worse here.

Ultimate disrespect

I take that as the ultimate disrespect. Leaving so many employees in limbo to be thinking about layoffs every day, listening to rumors and worrying about when they will have a job, is also inhumane. Why so little transparency? It seems to me that... — read more

A fully involuntary plan will miss some people

There are people who are not taking the lump sum that aren't concerned about the interest rate bump and would be happy to take a lump sum and move on. I get that there is huge incentive for lump sum folks to leave regardless. That is a bonus to... — read more

Cobra Cost

If anyone has recently taken cobra from ford, how much did it cost for 2 (employee + spouse).

New Normal

I was told by my LL6's in my quarterly check-in this past week that cuts are going to be the norm for the next 2 years. Hard to press the "work tirelessly" message with that kind of message. Personally I'm tired of working so hard just to create... — read more

How do raises / promotions work?

Firstly, I know an overwhelming majority of people here are going to tell me to get out now, which I can appreciate due to the layoff announcement. But I am fresh out of college, poor, have no family or connections. Given the oversaturation of my... — read more

The invol's vs voluntary packages of 2019.

So I was able to find what was offered for voluntary packages in 2019 but couldn't find anything about the voluntary packages(?). Does anybody know what they received? Here is hoping for voluntaries being offered and I wanted to post this thread as a... — read more

Aug16 then 2 weeks paid then done

Volunteers could probably help with the transfer of knowledge. Involuntaries need to be walked out for fear of retaliation. It’s not very efficient to interview every potential retirement prospect. A blanket offer would help immensely. I did... — read more

Lump Sum Rumors

Has anyone heard about cutting the lump sum payment for people with ver 30 years? Is there any documentation stating that the details?

Nothing is happening tomorrow

I'm not sure where the August 12 rumor originated, but it's not happening. We've never had layoffs on a Friday. In general, layoffs don't happen on a Monday either (for the most part). When it's time, expect to see it take place in the middle of the... — read more
