August 16th LL6 ,5 ,4 private meeting on Callender

I have been hearing 8/17 will have another round. There is a 2 hour meeting scheduled the day before between chief managers and supervisors. Could be coincidence. Anyone see a managment meeting in their dept on the 16?

Leaving for a competitor?

So I am starting with GM on Monday. Tomorrow I will let Ford know….should I say this is my last day or give a 2 week notice so I can get paid for 2 more weeks? I assume they will walk me out regardless when I say I’m starting??

Do the right thing Ford

There IS still time for a voluntary. The 2021 VSSP was offered in July 2021. The deadline to accept was September 2nd and the last day worked was October 31. If they do a voluntary in 2022: It can be offered in mid-August, deadline to accept can be... — read more

VPSE Org Chart

They did a reorg in VSPE today and there are 3 or 4 LLs who are possibly retiring this fall. Possibly more once the floodgates open up. These LLs are supported by some very good engineers and once they jump ship the LLs jobs will be a living he-l. ... — read more

Employees who are safer

Everyone should be prepared. However, are there those who are perhaps more immune to layoffs than the majority of us?

Thread about how people were let go?

Curious if anyone has heard how people have recently been let go or what the rumored game plan is (any packages, deadline meaning given a month etc, or are people simply being asked to leave at the point they are told)? I do appreciate it in advance... — read more

Returning company's property

I hope that this will not happen, but I am slowly preparing myself for the traumatic experience of losing my job. I am interested in whether Ford gives a reasonable amount of time to the laid off employee to return the company property back?

How does HR notify Ford employees

Now that we are working remotely, how will a Ford employee get notified that they are cut? Will they be contacting by their supervisor or HR?

Deadline Detroit’s (accurate) take on Farley:

Most mega mergers fail, but I was fortunate to have once worked with a CEO who executed one of the greatest corporate combinations of all time, creating a company that still ranks in the top tier of the Fortune 500. What set him apart from executives... — read more

I've had a change of perspective

Did anybody else shift from "please don't let it be me" to "please let it be me" state of mind regarding incoming cuts since the leak?

Cesspool charging stations

I think everyone needs to think about the potential that charging stations along the interstate will be nasty. Just like a bad restrooms at a gas station but more prolonged exposure.

Big News day, tomorrow Town Halls

Earlier there was a post about there being a big news with Ford & DTE for renewable energy at the plants. Tomorrow there are townhalls scheduled, I'm assuming for an all clear, just like they did previously. Had a big news event with UAW investment... — read more

Prepare for the worse but don't expect it

It's as simple as that. That's the easiest way to survive the ongoing uncertainty with your mental health intact. You do what you can to be ready for the worst-case scenario and then continue as if it's business as usual. You don't have to think... — read more

Busier than ever

With the attrition as high as it is, I've been busier than ever in the last few months. We've lost three team members and so far none of their positions have been backfilled. I'd like to think this makes me safe from coming layoffs, but this is Ford... — read more

Anxious about cuts

Some of my colleagues are overly anxious while some don't care about cuts and are not worried at all. I am among those who do not worry much in advance, because whatever happens, I believe that I will manage to find something new in a relatively... — read more

What's next for you?

Everyone is so up in arms about the waiting for layoffs. Saying it's stressful, unfair, unproductive, and insane. What are all of you going to do if you're not layed off? Do u really want to work for a company like this? This is a wake up call... — read more

An Open Later to Jim, PART 3

Ford is trying to turn you into a god with all the articles they spew out about the "good" you do. The only god I pray to is the one on Sundays (and the wife's). We see right through that propaganda, you can't fool us. Mulally did many great things... — read more

U.S. Field - MS&S - any updates?

So it looks like they are going through each LL level and slowly getting into LL6 and GSR category. Any idea if the Market Area/Region/SDR is affected? What about NAFLRO (FordPro) and Lincoln Regions within the Market Areas? Do we really need an... — read more

I'm considering leaving for the first time

I've been here for nearly a decade. It's been a semi-decent place to work outside of layoffs. This latest stunt they're pulling has me rethinking that. I can deal with layoffs but this wait, this "will it, won't it" is too much. If they had let it go... — read more
