Ford Mach-E failed in China
After selling barely a hundred units a month for the last 3 years, Ford pulled the plug on EV in China. The 6 assembly plants is China is down to 2. Ford barely sells 150,000 cars a year in China. It's time to shut them down and stop the bleeding... — read more
Ford’s challenge going foward
It will be hard for ford to market EVs even with large incentives. Volume will not solve the problem because the vehicles will just sit in the parking lots longer. Quality su-ks. Wait and watch the downfall or better leave and take care of yourself. — read more
In the late 90s/early 2000s, we had a modular engine family, modular fuel pump, and perhaps a few more modular items.
We were great then, maybe we just need "modularity" and we will get past this losing streak and be back in the game?
ECONOMY Updated on September 29, 2023 4:53pm EDT Ford warns extended UAW strike could result in up to 500,000 supplier employee layoffs

Tired of strike
Need to hire replacement workers to settle this mess and / or move the work south. UAW doesn’t want to negotiate a contract, they just want to stir the pot.
Do you expect to be here in 6 months?
Way things are going, I genuinely would be shocked if I had a job here in May of next year.
SK Innovation layoffs
SK is partner of Ford and they supplies EV batteries to Ford and VW. This is a sign that Gord will be laying off soon. https://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-news/job-cuts-in-georgias-much-hyped-electric-vehicle-sector/5WM2DNDZYVHN7DM6IV5M2XTGTA/
Being part of the solution!
I read a lot of posts here, and honestly wonder how many are actually from active employees. If you complaining on here, you are part of the problem at FMC, do everyone a favor and find another job with another company. You will be much happier. If... — read more
Next round of layoffs: mid-November
Be prepared Great way to wish a happy thanksgiving!
Would you RTO to SE Michigan if they forced you to?
I certainly wouldn't. Not worth living in that area for peanut pay
Are layoffs coming ( or not coming?)
Wondering if I should try to work hard and grow here or just to coast until the grim reaper comes to me and I got thrown out like trash like the others were in the past
Joining Ford was a huge mistake; this place is absolute sh1t
I have been here for about 1 year now and am realizing that this place really has no future. The tech is garbage and disorganized; no one even wants to work together on anything. Blame game is being played all the time. Seems like the trick here is... — read more

I am just done
This place is horrible; people back stab one another, no one wants to work together and collaborate. I have literally learned nothing since getting a job here; I am just biding my time and staying as long as I can. Im going to have to prepare to BS... — read more

If Ford were smart it'd build a Bronco pickup
Opportunity to add 10s of 1000s of units in sales. Give it removable roof panels with the option of a soft-top. Could be very awesome.
Volunteers
Who is volunteering at the Part Depots? Does Ford already know the UAWs next move? Very interesting the request for volunteers that came out yesterday. Count me out.
Ford paused the plan to build batteries in Michigan
https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/25/business/ford-battery-plant-pause/index.html Ford finally figured out that it does not need anymore battery plants because Ford cant sell what they made. American don't want to buy Ford EVs when they comes with... — read more

None us will have a job in 2 years here
Who else is only here because job market is bad?
Anyone else just trying to milk as many paychecks as we can and waiting for the market to get better? I’m doing the absolutely bare minimum to just have this time go by before I find somewhere which is actually good for my career
we have already lost to Tesla
If people genuinely think we have a chance to compete with Tesla, I have a bridge to the spiderverse to sell you. The amount of quiet quitting and people being incompetent and useless here is insane; Elon would have axed half this company already... — read more
Ford borrowed $9.2 billions from the government

I’m embarrassed to work here
I honestly feel my resume is getting worse and worse the longer I stay here: This is a C player company, full of mediocre people who aren’t good enough to get a job else where
Safe from layoffs for now it seems
Time to quiet quit and prepare for interviews otherwise you might be next

How many hours a week do you work?

Pretending I’m part of the team and I care
Im mentally checked out and genuinely don’t care. How do I maintain the illusion that I’m stoked about the mediocrity here?
Keep job at ford and new job too?
Should I tell Ford I got a new job and am quitting or should I just keep both jobs? My LL6 is a clueless bser and quiet quitter so I could pull this off for few months easily
If I got 6 months severance , I wouldn’t care
If I got laid off. This place has no future long term tbh, I don’t see the energy or ambition from anyone. Things move very slow, there is no innovation , people are half asleep in meetings.
There is no team or culture here at all
I’ve done days and days without interacting with my “team”. Other people are always inaccessible in their own world.
