I'm trying to make it to retirement

I don't have much left until retirement. Trying to find something else is not the best option for me, so the goal is to make it to retirement. Given that layoffs have become very frequent here, I'm wondering how to increase the chances of that... — read more

Is a major exodus on the horizon?

Those who have marketable skills will certainly not wait here to get cut but are already sending resumes to get out of this terrible atmosphere. I think there will be a mass departure of people because everyone I know has started job hunting.

Retiree & Z plan

My hubby got SIRPed but qualified as a retiree. He went to get a Z plan pin & his login didn’t work so he called NESC to get a pin & they told him that he longer had Z plan privileges. WTF? He’s a retiree! He had the privileges last year! Anyone else... — read more

Manufacturing or MP&L??

Anybody here from Mfg or MP&L? Were these groups impacted yesterday? There used to be a time where manufacturing and logistics were grossly under supported. It made for miserable working conditions, but for better or worse, it felt somewhat 'safe'... — read more

When they show you who they are believe them

Every day Ford leadership keeps proving how little it cares about employees. I hope everybody who is considering joining finds this forum before they decide to accept the offer. They need to see how employees are treated before they decide to trust... — read more

Ford's hiring!

Looking at Ford salaried postings on the career site, there are new jobs listed. The catch is that a lot are in Chennai. Who would have ever guessed that (besides everybody)?

Hiring spree 6-10 years ago, sacrificial lambs?

It just dawned on me. Could the hiring spree from 2012 to about 2017 all been a ploy? If you look at Linked In those announcing they've been laid off are mostly 20+ year employees and 10 or less year employees. Almost one for one. Could Ford have... — read more

What top talent does Ford actually have?

The salaries are way below market, most people I know get no stocks/ equity. In addition, people are getting laid off every quarter. How is this going to attract talent?

Should we expect to be laid off Sept 25?

Apparently that is the next time we might lose our jobs. I guess ill start applying non stop now and study for interviews instead of working on my work here. Its not like I am getting a high compensation here ( no stocks etc) and its not worth... — read more

C level DRI for company inefficiency

If Ford employees/operations are inefficient, which C level executive should be responsible for continuing to let that happen with no signs of improvement? A sincerely curious question.

Who owns your ideas after being fired?

Say I invent a new toilet brush that revolutionizes toilet sanitation the world over. Who owns it, Ford? How long to they own all my ideas after they throw me to the curb? How do I find out for sure?

CEO is clueless

The issue with Ford is the management. The CEO lacks the knowledge of how to cut costs without laying off talent needed bring the company into the future. He has ruined company morale, sends mixed messages concerning the companies over mission. I... — read more

Detroit Free Press reports ~ 1,000 salaried cuts

"People who were affected are being provided with severance benefits and assistance in finding new opportunities." (spokesman TR Reid) https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2023/06/28/ford-confirms-salaried-worker-layoffs/70366557007/

Cuts were actually about performance unfortunately

I've heard from a source that there a lot of things taken into consideration in making the cuts and by far the biggest thing they considered was how well an employee performs on assessing, evaluating and implementing technical solutions to... — read more

Start to look now?

This week was pretty concerning; seems like a matter of time before I end up on the chopping block. Wish the economy was better so there would be better opportunities but seems like its worth it to get started earlier on trying to find a better... — read more

It is upper management that fails ford over and over

Why do they keep their jobs? If I sit through one more Return on Investment (ROI), I ask how do I control this? Upper management controls the budgets, decides what gets cut, project approval, etc. Advice I give to upper management, take your car... — read more
