IBM Layoffs today
RIF is company wide and roles include engineering. Not sure how many yet, but folks in IBM Automation were affected. Turmoil started in January, so it will not come as a surprise to many.
Reason for your layoff
I feel bad for everyone impacted. I hope you will find something better soon. What explanation were you given for your layoff?
TSS
Anyone in TSS affected by RA.
Is there any way to know the scope of today's layoffs?
Is this limited to a few groups or is it company-wide? How many people are going to be affected? Have people who are getting laid off already received their invites for meetings or are invites still going out? I'm sorry about all the questions, but... — read more

If layoffs come, will big executives still get their bonuses?
As an IBMer that has been laid off a few years ago. Has any one looked at reducing the big bonus that are given out. I know this is a pipe dream, but if it saves jobs, I think it should be looked into. Not only at IBM, but at all companies.

Will there be more major layoffs this year?
Most restructurings happen in the spring so the costs of the restructuring can be recouped in the current year. IF IBM is going to make a major move, I would expect they will account for it at 1st q earnings, and implement over the remainder of... — read more

Retiring email
Is it considered a good practice to send a farewell email to a list of IBM colleagues. I am retiring soon. There were some people I really will miss.
