I worked marketing in the MSC and was laid of/RA'd today as well. Real kick in the gut and super sh–ty all around. I can only hope IBM gets some negative PR about this.

Was about to hit my 1 year of employment as a software dev in IGF. Got the message today that i'm laid off. I'm in my 20s and was an intern prior to my hire. Was told this decision was not based on performance.

I'm hearing that this is only round 1 and that more layoffs are on the way. Has anyone else heard anything like this ?

My heart goes out to those impacted by today's RA's. Real bad timing. Has Systems (Power, Storage) been impacted at all? There is life beyond IBM, believe me.

Seeing a lot of other divisions, but haven't heard much on Cloud. I was part of Cloud and given the same 30 day notice today.

The open power team has been let go along with other power engineers. Looks like we are moving out of growth and only going to focus on existing enterprise customers. Ugly day in Austin and other power sites.

At least 6 people were cut from my group today. Looks like it could be far more.

Got Cut - I think 8 from my team along with me. 30 days notice 90 days pay. Continuation of medical benefits is available.

Got cut today with a few others, worked for GTS hybrid cloud services.

I and the entire team I manage (15) were RA'ed. TCIS. Another two managers and their teams in my group were also whacked. Anything non-cloud related got cut.

I just got RA. All team were impacted. Last day June 22..

No changes: 30 days notice, 90 days severance... Health benefits can run for up to a year at the existing rate, after that you are switching to COBRA.

US action is this Thursday. Manager training was yesterday (Monday) and they were told notification details will be email today. If a manager is being notified that has team members in the action too they will be notified Wednesday.

IBM Security, received a 1:1 meeting request today from my manager for tomorrow (Thursday). Any indication as to whether laid off US employees will get an extension of their health insurance?

Up to 40% of WH will be cut on Thursday, Manager RAs on Wednesday.

Distressing that we aren't hearing chatter regarding RIFFs because we aren't in the office. They are happening this week guys. Managers notified Wednesday, all others Thursday. No RIFFs for Directors and above in this cycle.
