Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Working from Home BofA Style

Show up and sign on, then go and pick up breakfast, then sit and talk with coworkers.

Attend some lame meeting, then back to talking with coworkers or play with smartphone.

Go out to lunch. Come back and turn TV on to watch the ball game. (yes, turn on TV)

Go for long afternoon walk or some take 30 minute consecutive smoke breaks.

Guess what, its time to go home.

The company is hemorrhaging money - If someone is a bad worker you fire them.

Yes, it is going to take years to undo the damage that Obama has done to this country!

@4hjv, we are the same people! and just so you know, keep thinking, "the Russians are coming!" while you prepare to handle how your job is moved to India as a result of Obama's failed policies that have wreaked havoc on this country. You sound like a Democrat millenial with hashtag #howitshouldbe .

@1zwe, you must be near retirement age having worked your whole life at a low level position getting nowhere wondering why others succeed and you don't. Jobs are being outsourced to countries such as India because it's cheaper, not better as @1nmu pointed out. There is a perception stemming from the last century that the more workers you have on a project, the better, so get them cheap. This does not work in the information age! Knowledge and experience are worth far more than sheer labor and rote work that can just be automated by computers as well as done by machines. The fact that foreigners, supposedly skilled workers like the Indians, are happy to do grunt work and rote work all day long just shows how far behind they are!

@1gmn Thanks for breaking it down to @1zwe but I would not waste my time replying. It's obvious @1zwe is a couple of cycles behind in the logic processing department. @1zwe thinks outsourcing has to do with efficiency/productivity and not cost savings.

@1gmn, sounds like you are 18 yrs old and not yet learn what it means to have a job and work for a living, you may want to have your parents explain that to you. It's mentalities like yours why our jobs are sent offshore.

@1frm, you've missed the point! The point of work is to achieve some kind of result that is of benefit to the organization that ultimately makes money by the aggregate of everyone's contribution. If the actual work takes 5 minutes but produces the required value that's great for the employee involved who should be able to decide how he uses his remaining time. Work is not jumping when the manager says jump or doing a hundred esoteric, useless tasks at the manager's request just to satisfy some ego issues that he may have. It is important to produce the required value which will ultimately show up or not show up in the corporate results.

@znl Is it possible that you s--- at what you do while the one hanging out is 10x more efficient than you are, delivers with extreme accuracy and more importantly, can easily move around.
