Here's the deal from the Pershing perspective, can't speak for BNYM as a whole.
We have always followed the NYSE holiday schedule, and will continue to follow it in 2022. We received an email letting us know that Pershing is open on Monday January 3. There is no observed holiday for New Year's Day in 2022. Juneteenth is on the NYSE holiday calendar as observed for Monday June 20, and the assumption is that we have off that day. Since we follow NYSE schedule we have never had off for Columbus Day or Veteran's Day since they are considered bank holidays, not NYSE holidays.
So far there's been no updating of the holidays to Fed Reserve and NYSE SE... Are they really going to go with this schedule that means we won't have an extra holiday off now from 6/19 being added?
We lost Good Friday and replaced it with Martin Luther King’s day 25 years ago. Where have you people been?

OP is a more on, like the rest of the faux news crowd. Just look at any FRB holiday calendar- Vets day in 2022 falls on a Saturday, ergo Not Observed.
You will get 3 personal holidays if you previously followed the FRB or 3 floating holidays if you previously followed the NYSE. In my mind, that's just semantics.
However, there is only one US holiday schedule. We no longer follow the FRB or NYSE calendars.
Just went to MySource and see what you are saying about the U.S. Holiday schedule for 2022. But read at the top of the page where it says business units that follow Fed Reserve schedule and business units that follow the NYSE. We will still be following those schedules based on Fed/NYSE.
Some of you either don't work for BNYM or are oblivious to changes happening in our company. There is a change for 2022. We no longer have a separate holiday schedule for NYSE vs Fed Reserve. There is now one US holiday schedule with 3 personal days. Veterans day, Columbus day, and Good Friday are no longer observed. Just go on Mysource and you can confirm for yourself.
My division goes by the FRB calendar not the NYSE. Exchange has always been open on Veterans Day.

FRB website still has it listed so I'm thinking this will be straightened out. Usually we have 2 different calendars listed and only one is posted so far.
