Executive Whistleblowing?

As a result of hearing of more layoffs in my business unit this week I'm waking up anxious again at 4am. Although I know I should leave, I'm finding it difficult to get a role that isn't in a destructive industry. If our blood-su-king leadership... — read more

Boundless Learning / POLS layoffs

They laid off half the staff today with no severance. Notification was a joke! Some got a meeting invite while others got an email AFTER the meeting. Those let go are being paid for the rest of the week, but damn. They let go of some good people but... — read more

Zulily, LLC

Go look at your future. Zulily, LLC was purchased by Regent. They have a layoff board here as well.

Any news?

The big news about 2 weeks ago was that (surprise) there'd be more layoffs through mid August. Anyone heard anything new?

No more severance

As of 6/15 Pearson no longer has a severance policy. Tenure means nothing. This opens up opportunities for inconsistencies and bias. I’m sure there’s going to be discovery and lawyers once someone feels they got less than their former coworkers. — read more

So there is a hiring freeze. There are some shifting in responsibilities for devs and managers. There are no new projects (no work). Is this an indication of layoffs?

HE next?

Now that the ecumenical TAS is running HE, will they be next for the chopping block? Especially now that there’s a hiring freeze in place? He’s made more cuts than Gillette.

Mid-way point

That’s the call out from KB in an email to staff that went out this week. Same blah blah except that our new Regent owners want us to be working back in offices. Because….? So let me get this straight…we know we’re going to be working in an office... — read more

Imposter Syndrome

I got laid off at the end of last year at Pearson and have found a new job at an excellent company a couple months ago. What do I mean by excellent? I got a lot more money for the same kind of work. I got new equipment. Everything my new employer... — read more

Keeping skills up to date

Striving to keep skills relevant is extremely important for all of us. However, am I mistaken or is it becoming increasingly difficult to do so here? I'm about to quit because I've been stagnant here for some time in every possible way.

Your Next Job's Pay and Benefits

No one cares about morale

Severance for employees who are laid off

I decided not to wait for them to tell me that I am no longer needed and I left this place. I am pretty sure that I made a good decision. I'm interested in how generous was the severance pay for those who were laid off?

They talk a lot but improve very little

I have the impression that the leadership just talks and talks about improvements, while things remain the same…… So why all these empty promises? In the meantime, the issues continue piling up.

No part of Pearson is ever "safe"

Last minute retention manager meeting?

Not sure if it's our id--t leader being deaf to the fact that employees don't like spur of the moment meetings with no agenda, or if layoffs are coming. The constant stress isn't worth it anymore!
