I was contacted via Linkedin for a Senior Finance Advisor - Renewables position at Shell. Does anyone know if this is a good position and the salary range? Thank you in advance.
How will the money be reinvested?
I guess most of the money from Permian sales will go to shareholders?
TLs sh$&ing bricks!
It sure is nice to see the shoe on the other foot lol! Don’t get me wrong this situation stinks for all of us involved but I find it funny seeing the TLs getting a dose of what they dished out during Avanti!
CR Advisor Position Canada
So Shell let go a bunch of CR positions not long ago, but now is hiring external for a CR position in Canada. I thought Avanti had it all sorted out.
DEI with an update on supplier diversity.
Anyone else listening to this garbage?
How many people will lose their jobs?
Are there any assumptions as to how many people will get laid off as a result of consolidation? For me, move to Midland is not an acceptable option.
shell stock
too funny gretchen mentioning the positive market reaction to the deal to defend that this was a good deal for shell. xom is up more than shell since the anouncement. cop is certainly up a lot more …. the fact that all shell knows to do is to give... — read more
Moving to Midland TX
Having the office staff move to Midland is BS. It’s a great layoff strategy between Shell and COP so no one has to pay severance.
Thoughts on the new Permian employees FAQ?
What a strange document! The first line should have said - all impacted employees can apply for voluntary severance. Does Conoco really want hostile employees transferred? They should do wink-wink nudge-nudge and not take those who don't want... — read more
Gretchen - lame duck?
Is the lady done? Will they retain her to send weekly diversity/inclusion/equity (in short, DIE white males) emails???
I know this is probably a stupid question
but any ideas on how the Permian sale could affect employees?
Was Shell Permian deal semi-sensible price-wise - or is it a mirage???
The acquisition from Chesapeake was $1.9B in 2012, the sale price now is $9.5B. On paper, seems like it all made money. Anybody familiar with the Permian financials over the 2012-2021 time span? How much of a money pit was it? Or did it actually... — read more
In the end .....
if you pick leaders that don't have a clue about the business it does not matter what strategy you think you are pursuing .... it will fail ....
From round to round.
I used to panic about being on the layoff list. After all the layoff rounds I’ve survived, I can now say that after each round it became harder for me to work here. Now I no longer inquire about the next round of layoffs because I am afraid of... — read more
Shell Permian Sale
@WSJ scoop: Shell is close to a deal to sell assets in the Permian basin to ConocoPhillips for around $9.5 billion as it invests more in renewables
gom production
looks like gom production will be shut for rest of the year. what a cluster …. makes the speculated impending permian divestment all the more ridiculous. flow assurance anyone ? diversification ? strategic failures all around. why are we in a... — read more
Shell's Core Values
The company's values should be lying, favoritism, and zero tolerance for respect. Not honesty, integrity and respect. Thoughts?
Future of Shell- Chemicals/ Petrochemical Division
Anybody here work at Shell Chemicals, I work in Shell but not the chemicals buisness. I hear alot of talk about how this buisness is a pillar buisness for the future. However with possibly lower demand for plastics (where the majority of ethylene and... — read more
A moment of absent-mindedness
Has it happened to anyone that you accidentally started looking for a job from a company computer? There probably won’t be any consequences but I’m a little paranoid right now.
Another Round of SVS?
When will we see another bloodletting? Any word?
Gretchen's "Be Ready October 4th"
WTH? They are leaving us in limbo telling us to arrange childcare, etc. and that basically we have to be ready to go into the office beginning October 4th at the drop of a hat. Yet our supposed "competitors" (Google, Apple) are at least upfront with... — read more

Upstream Employees Under 35. What odds do you give yourself to retire with Shell
During Avanti and Re-shape, it seemed like a lot of folks in the 40s and 50s got f-ed over when it came to retirement benefits etc. It doesn't seem like a carrot anymore. What percentage chance do you give yourself lasting 25+ years to get those... — read more

Contingency training

The Gervais Principle- This is Shell

Potential Permian Sale
Anyone know the chance of this going through and potential timelines?
Is it just me, or does Shell seem like they are getting out of providing goods and shifting to services?
