Executive mess

The executives are far too removed from what goes on in the departments they're responsible for. So they have no clue. Flattening the organization will help, but not if the executives aren't qualified for their jobs.

2018

What a horrible year. I've been employed for 20+ years and this is the worst year so far. I just learned that Toys R Us went bankrupt and 30,000 will lose jobs. That's 30,000 people affected - this is massive and where will we be in a year. They are... — read more

Update...

I see a ton of posts here today, can someone summarize what's going on (for us who are not part of the circus any more). Thanks in advance. Also, the grass is not greener once you leave, but it's not as bad as I expected it to be when I was leaving... — read more

Tipsord is Out?

This is a rumor I heard in the office, not online (oh, all that water-cooler gossip). Is Tipsord really out? I guess we'll have to wait until the board meeting is done.

Board Meeting

Can anyone confirm or squash rumors that abound regarding the board meeting? From everything I understand, it became quite heated. I understand the nature and veracity of rumors, however, in my years of experience, there is always some hint of truth.

80% Layoff

Someone mentioned 80% in this message @SbjoiY3-zkv - do you know what's this 80% refering to. I know it's not the whole company, but what groups will be hammered this bad.....

Unused vacation time

Can somebody on here who has quit State Farm or knows somebody who did it tell me if when you leave on your own, do you get paid for unused vacation time or not? Just trying to make sure I have all the necessary information in advance in case I do... — read more

Anybody else from Ad Services here at this hour?

Just wondering if I'm the only one. To say I'm nervous ahead of today's meeting would be an understatement. I've already started looking for a new job a few weeks ago, but that doesn't mean that I came to terms with the possibility of being laid off... — read more

Reinspection being moved to the hubs

All L&D Proximity (think trainers) and Re-Inspection being moved to the hubs, don't know exact number. Think about what this means - the company doesn't care about the quality of work being done in the field, or training the reps that remain. I think... — read more

Where is the 2017 annual report?

Isn’t the annual report usually made available online by this time of year? All that’s been posted within the company is the fourth-quarter report. I imagine they’re trying to keep the bad news from going public as many as possible

State Farm is the WORST company I have ever worked for.

I experienced harassment and discrimination in their boiler room. I wasn't the only one. A co-worker was REPEATEDLY (going on 4 years now) passed over on promotions SOLELY because of her speech impediment which has NOTHING to do with her job, period... — read more

20 percent cuts across the board

You are correct, looking at the cuts already made in P&A, SR, L&D, etc... the cuts are about 20% across the board. Do we know if this trend will continue throughout the company? Twenty percent of 70k is 14k, is State Farm really going to cut that... — read more

Opt in Opt out severance question

After watching the video it appears that whether you opt out or opt in and do not receive a reasonable job offer you will receive the same severance. My question is unless you were planning on retiring soon or quitting why would you opt out?

Relocation

Has anyone been offered the option to relocate? I've seen the video outlining the package, but what I'd like to know is how long you are given before you need to be in your seat, working at the new location.
