Will HR call you if you get let go during vacation? Was hoping to get a phone call, but nothing yet.

Someone in 240 was having trouble logging in. They called the helpdesk, to discover their access was blocked, because they were no longer employed by BNY.
I was not provided a year end review nor was I given new goals for 2019. They seem to make up the rules as they go. I was on medical leave for a couple months and assumed upon my return my boss would have them waiting for me. Instead, after nearly 2 decades of service and many accolades along the way I returned to work and within a week was told my job had been eliminated. No warning and no other reason was given. Just poof and you are escorted out like a criminal. I respected and enjoyed working with my staff and colleagues and would not place blame on BNY, Mellon or any of the other numerous acquisitions done over the years. Unfortunately BNYM has lost a great deal of knowledge, experience and understanding of the products/services as well as the sheer insight of how to get the job done. This did not happen overnight but had been happening for the last 10 years. Only in the last year has it escalated beyond repair. You cannot replace that type of experience with a new graduate or just piling on more work to those left to pick up the pieces. No disrespect, just a fact of the business. I wish everyone well and feel badly for those still in the thick of the dismantling of the institution.
Reality check they don’t give a flying F in you are on vacation , on the toilet, whatever. They will call you until they get ahold of you and inform you of what is going on. Don’t kid yourself. They don’t care period. Company is no longer the best place to work. Full of Sh–!
They will the week you return back thats what we do a as leaders in a top company lol
Yes they will. They did it to me on the last round of layoffs in February after 15 years of loyalty. They didn’t even have the respect to let me come back to the office so st least i could have collected my personal belongings. So absolutely they will do it while you are on vacation. Cowards!
They called someone in our department who was away on vacation. The reason they did that was because the person would have used more vacation than they had earned by the time they came back, and would have had to pay back the extra vacation days, which would have basically reduced their sub pay by a few days.
They wont call you and give you advance notice. They will wait for your first day back
