Wild Oats Stores

All wild oats stores are about to be extinct. So if your store is wild oats sharpen your resume.

Massive closures coming up.

John Mackey said they are not afraid to pull the plug of a store that is not performing. Well guess which stores don’t perform much? Ring ring ring its the wild oat stores.

And if your Wild Oats remodel does $900,000 a week?

Mackey insisted on buying Wild Oats as they were the biggest competitor- way overpaid for it- had to borrow 400mil from Green Trust who eventually walked away with a huge payoff. Stores were doing 75k a week- just another poorly thought through transaction that led to future investors buying in and trying to take control and the eventual purchase by Amazon to get away from it all. Need to understand the game when you play with the Big Dogs!!!

The purchase of Wild Oats by Whole Foods Market was overturned. FTC forced us to divest and sell in 2009. It was then sold to two different companies since then. I think remember when we first bought them we had to close a certain % of Wild Oats as part of the deal to avoid monopolies while some stores were remodeled as Whole Foods? Are you speaking of the old remodeled stores that are now called Whole Foods that happen to be residing in an old Wild Oats? Because we don't own Wild Oats. My 1st store was a brand new building but they closed a nearby Wild Oats and our store for financial forecasting was considered a relocation of the closed Wild Oats. Since that store was just remodeled last week I doubt they will close it.
