Someone showed up at our store just before closing time and scanned the entire backroom and salesfloor with a 360 camera.
When I asked what they were doing they said it was a project called "matterport."

We scanned our store yesterday. There are now ugly section markers at the end of every aisle and end cap.
Probably about letting people know where product is in the store there was an email about it a few weeks back.
Matterport is a visualization tool that some retailers use to create a virtual shopping experience. It also might be used to improve operations of the physical building.
Maybe it’s Santa Claus. Sad LOL.
