never had good experience with KLTC engineers. Cant troubleshoot for nuts nor understand the process. Really a burden to the base engineers.
They are more like reporting engineers, claiming credit with information and work that the local folks had fed them and done. I guess the KLTC folks dont mind as most of them move on to better roles (supervisory, or overseas assignments) just by doing that.
MPE stands for Malaysian Process Engineer.
Don't believe me? Go check it out at goto/acronym
They are hiring bottom bucket engineer from a bottom bucket Malaysia university as those good PMA leave in hordes to better paying companies. GL at KL covering their own as--s while celebrating mediocre work.
Over the past few years, I must say the standards of KLTC technical support have deteriorated significantly. Several years ago when the supporting engineers were still called PMA, I had encountered a few good ones who were actually able to step in and support the units when site PE were leaving in hordes. Now, the MPEs ( think this is the 3rd change in name?) are so incompetent that they are adding on to the workload of site PEs. MPEs are supposed to be the one monitoring the unit and providing long term optimisation ideas but somehow it ends up that the process engineers have to provide those data to the KLTC engineers. Offshoring is inevitable but at least ensure the standard of the technology center first
To the potential bond breaker
Don’t break the scholarship bond to work for EM. It’s not worth it, and EM always feel like you are serving them at their pleasure, which means they are doing you a favor by giving you a job. Will they value you? Only for a selected few. It’s easy to feel very confident at a young age, but I have seen very capable people not hit the heights that their capabilities should, just because of one or two quirks which are very subjective to certain bosses. It can be random. If you feel like Indiana Jones (who happens to be white by the way, and I assume you are not) who wants to risk it all, wait until your scholarship bond is done. Then come in and have fun at a pretty competitive company, which has the old school presitge (and perspectives) but doesn’t pay all that well on average. All the best.
Same pay do many many things, if you sc--w up one thing, love letter will be on the way for you to accept 😁
Good job, which means you’re productive!
Did the headcount get permanently reduced across every crafts in ES? Seems like one person is managing twice or thrice BUs as compared to several years ago
Nah... Gen Z today expected to be VP in 3 to 6 years... Anythingblinger is unacceptable!

''Wow that’s like a really bad system to work for long term… Plan on changing jobs every 2 years personally. Do you think it’s worth to break a 2 year scholarship bond to join EM for the higher base pay to kick start my career?"
There are a few things you must before doing that:
- How much you need to pay when you break the bond?
- Are you damme sure that once you break the scholarship bond you are able to get a job EM?
- Think carefully before you break the bond, cause the company you are breaking the bond with highly unlike they will want you back in the future...
All the best and good luck
we are all eventually going to be replaced by remote cost centers and expat engineers. so much for creating jobs for locals.

you want the truth?
They don't say it but it's to build up the numbers again so that there is enough fats to cut the expensive people. As a fresh hire you are protect for the first 2 years and considering the fact that the company made 55b profit, you will be rewarded with decent increment even without putting in much effort. This year we have seen people who spent 6 months doing onboarding and get rewarded better than the other folks working their life away.
However, good luck to you after 2 years because you won't be protected unless you proved that you are worth developing into management. If you decided to pick the technical career path, the fact is that it doesn't matter if you have good knowledge or experience, there are plenty of replacement from KL or Bangalore who may not have the same level of skillset as you but are and will be eager to take your position.
On top of that, since you are asking as a potential fresh hire, the cycle repeats and eventually you will get caught up and end up as 1 of the many victims in the company.
Like if the rest of you think this is better than the WAEM survey.
Hmmm I saw quite a few recent reviews on Glassdoor talking about the super bad management and how they’re ruining the company and running it into the ground.
Not sure about going in as a fresh graduate now as an engineer…

Best time ever working with EM in 2023. As a fresh grad expect to receive big yearly increment and fast CL advancement. You’ll be VP in 10 to 15 years earning big bucks and EM shares.
Anyone knows how it's like working at ExxonMobil in 2023? Curious about the Project Engineer role as a fresh grad. What the remuneration package like and the work life? Anything about the interview process too?
If you are a real employee not just some random spammer, u can see the number on the intranet.
share the number here, if not you are just trolling
If there's a supervisor involved in a vehicle accident and no investigation/got burried, call the anonymous internal audit tip hotline. If you report they will have to investigate.
later wait and wait then say, ohhhh this year Singapore as a site we never make money....
then they pull out their stupid chart to try convince people like what they did during 2020 hahas..
master = management path, expat, commercial experience
slave = technician, technical path, anchor, engineer, manufacturing, OT , TA
EM only got two classes: master or slaves, don’t expect the same treatment or benefits.
Company makes billions at the expense of worker’s sweat and work overload. Management rewards themselves with stocks but threaten workers with NSI.
Even weather is super hot, don’t give enough rest to meet their KPI. So why should I care how much millions company lose if delay startup, anyway we are not getting any reward from the profits.
They made billions in profits but only reward the top management...the middle to lower rungs still r not appreciated more!
Don’t Need To Wait
Go Join SIA
SIA to pay 8 mths bonus to all rank and file staffs following record profit in recogntion for employees hard work dedication and sacrifices
Meanwhile in exxonmobil.....
Employees are still waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting
Wait long2 lah
What is the point of posting high profits when you can’t even pay your employees’ bonuses?
Why bother with so many FLS and SLS when you can’t even settle your daily minimum headcount?
We are tired, we are frustrated, we are sick of being taken for fools. Unions are a useless bunch of self serving individuals who only take care of themselves and want free holidays every year to “negotiate”.
The management is taking advantage of the Unionists who only wants to get time off to attend “meetings” and “seminars”.
If the Arabs and Israelis met this often and this much, the Middle East would stop fighting and got along.
Dont say win court case
Proudly announced to the whole world made huge profit
Bonus also cannot announce early and share with its own loyal and hardworking employees working with bare minimum support and coverage
Unless your name is KAYU then deserved to get extra ordinary bonus lah
Ptuuuuuuuuuui lah em
I guess US court is stronger in this kind of case, if it is in singapore I don’t think you can get anything out from this case… lucky him…
Jose Simoneti settled out of court for $$$$
All EM employees are working in a world class bull sh-t company. No doubt about it!

HOUSTON — Exxon Mobil is facing a claim that it implemented an employee ranking system and took other efforts to eliminate older employees.
Jose Simonetty filed a complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against Exxon Mobil Corporation alleging age discrimination.
According to his complaint, Simonetty began working for Exxon Mobil 30 years ago and on July 9, 2020, at age 62, he was terminated. He alleges that throughout his time at Exxon Mobil, he received awards and commendations for his performance and that once he turned 58 years old, he noticed "a rapid, unsubstantiated decline in his performance ranking."
Simonetty claims that Exxon placed employees in this age group in performance evaluation programs that were "essentially the last step for older employees" and "very few, if any, survive" the programs to get their employment status to the company's "acceptive level."
Simonetty further claims Exxon works to drive out employees age 60 and over in order for younger employees to advance. Specifically, Simonetty alleges that he was given a bogus safety violation to bring down his employment ranking and that Exxon hired a "substantially younger" worker for him to train as part of a plan to replace him with the younger worker.
Simonetty seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Gregg Rosenberg of Rosenberg Sprovach in Houston.
Harris County District Court case number 2021-29437
For those who still think that Exxon is the company where you can work until old age thinks again. The way how this company works is to suck your soul till dry and leave you no time to upgrade yourself... Use you during the peak period of your lifetime then throw you away...
Nice heads up!
This forum helps management to heard ground feedback and to take any necessary measures. Much better than slido and all your true feedback matters.
Already hit 37 degree Celsius siah! Management is blind about heat stress lah!
Chua Chu Kang 36.2 degrees celcius, jurong island even hotter…
Nowadays weather so hot, room temperature already reach 34 degree Celsius . management always talk co-k sing song about heat stress in the office with cool air con but no action taken to reduce any work load for field technicians . They don’t really care , just want us to finish the work so they look good on their performance.
When ? And which site?
Operation shift superintendent vehicle incident no communications, no sharing, no dr-g & alcohol test. Simply just close the case like that. Process technician vehicle incident got so much sharings, reports broadly,. This is EM culture, EM standard, safety is only for the ground technicians or contractors, sad to say that. This is world class bull sh-t company. I puiiiii!!!!!!!
same same as long as it is management all got KPI to hit.. It all depends on how the management wants to hit it and also how exp the management getting it hit.. if the management is not competent and still wanna hit KPI, then the blood of the technician and some heads are required... When comes to mistakes, is never about management it is always technician..
Good luck to all my sisters and brothers in exxon! lets continue to work...
