Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I’m not so confident

Here people write that they can hardly wait for the layoffs, which will probably be huge, because they hope to find a job soon. Of course, the skillset is very important, but I’m no longer sure it’s crucial when looking for a new job.
A friend with many years of experience has been trying to find a similar position for three months and without success. I don’t know where people get so much confidence that they will find a new job very soon?

It is not narcistic to think you will find a new job. Each situation is unique. I get recruiters constantly email and call about positions. I read them and I am well qualified. It all depends upon what you do for the bank and what region that you are in.

Agree...assume it’s younger/greener people who have never been out of work thinking they’ll just ‘get a job’ even in a competitive environment where many have been laid off, all while another recession hangs in the balance.
Lesson learned perhaps too late is who know matters...networking pays dividends. Also, easier to find a job when you have one. Many companies won’t even look at unemployed candidates
