Profitability through cuts

Is it just me, or is the only way the BNYM leadership knows how to increase profit is through cuts, cuts, and more cuts? Is that really the only thing they can come up with? What exactly are they paid the big bucks for, then? There is no growth, no new strategies, nothing. Just cuts. No wonder the company is in as bad shape as it is.

Unfortunately BNY Mellon has no leadership, no vision, no inspiration.
Constant errors costing the firm, loss of business, no accountability.
So what else can they do ?? Cut people.
CEO of one of the divisions stated this is how we continue to run our business- by cutting.
In the next breath when asked about all the lost business he said- we always lose business and then we backfill.
Great plan !

No , you’re not the only one thinking this. God for bid if they found other ways to save.nor bring in some damn business. Can’t have their big bonuses if they have to shell out money to the little people doing all the work. Everyone got garbage raises for having to do more cause all they do is cut heads but yet their giving out thousands of dollars to mgmt for “prior year” adjustments .

I think we have a pretty good high level strategy but the execution of it by mid/upper managers is lackluster at best. At least from an IT perspective.
No priorities.
Drop everything you planned to do this quarter because some application didn't plan their work.
More and more bureaucracies.
More work just to make sure you aren't on someone's list or flagged by some stupid metric.
Just call something agile and you're done.
Create a PS and CT team and all of a sudden your organization is devops.
If middle managers actually managed, we could get more work done with 75% of our current work force.
