Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Will we ever have proper leadership?

I don't want to name anyone, but I'm just noticing that those who are in positions here lack greater leadership skills. By no means do we have people with a vision in a leadership position.
It is noticeable that everyone's morale is falling and that someone is needed who will give people back the motivation to work. Just my two cents.

I’d like to know where all the good employees are? You’re quick to say poor leaders, but look around. Nothing but lazy, sh---y employees who don’t want to work

Don't even get me started about TSG. If you are not a "friend of Bridget" you are nothing, you know nothing, and you cannot get ahead. All of the senior "management" that has come in after her follow each other from bank to bank, and here, at least, I know they invent jobs to give their friends instead of letting long-term employees who actually KNOW the company grow their careers. It seems like every other week we are introduced to some high-level person who has only been here a matter of months in a job that didn't exist previously.

They are souless. A while back when Bridget said in a town hall that she was embarrassed that "she" had 14K employees because she thinks headcount should be down at least a third; that said everything that needed to be said. Meanwhile, people are doing the work of 2-3 employees, working 50+ hour weeks, subjected to toxic, bullying scare tactics to keep us in line, and all the while giving lip service to work/life balance.

We need a leader that will whip us into shape! Maybe Charlie can take us on as a part time gig?

The directors are as bad as the EC. Apparently they think our company should concentrate on everything except growing a financial business.

All my Leader does is send emails the whole day .Yes and that's how he handles the team here. He is a successor of his previous boss who got him here to the oorganisation.Perhaps he must have been accidentally put in a Leadership role for which he has zero skills .FFS can anyone tell him sending emails the whole day does not make him a Leader .

I will name names. Let's start with Todd Gibbons and go from there. The man lacks any vision, strategy or innovation. He's an accidental CEO that needs to go.
And then every single person on exec.

I don't know where to start, just so many examples of poor leadership and lack of direction.

One of my colleagues asked if we worked in asset servicing or operations. Who knows. We have 20 vacancies and half of them are advertised as ops half as asset servicing.... One business unit... If we don't know who we are what hope is there?

We were told to watch a course online, the presenter was saying we should delegate our work, if we aren't delegating we aren't being efficient. Who does the guy at the bottom delegate too? What happens once I delegate everything, do I get promoted or sacked?

But still Jeremy Dobrick will sack us if we don't complete a course on time... Way to go with the priorities Jeremy!

Awful place.
