Is it me or is HR totally non-existent except for when it comes to downsizing?
Nobody communicates info on pay grades
Nobody communicates info about severance/sub pay until you're let go
It's some big puzzle to determine what activities you need to complete to get the most money into your HSA
Nobody communicates how to apply for other jobs or advance your careers.

The mission of HR is to help Senior Management squeeze as much value out of the human resources they employ and to work to replenish those resources to meet staffing objectives. Your personal well-being and desires couldn't be less of a priority for them.
We're not necessarily talking personalized service, @1swo. Policies should be straight forward, documented and provided to employees. What good does it do to offer SUB payments and other benefits if you don't let employees know about it?
So what else is new? HR has been that way every place I’ve worked that has off-site HR. The only times I recall personalized service is when we’ve had an HR rep on site, and that was years (maybe decades) ago. Good luck finding responsive HR anywhere these days.
Sorry HR, I confess I was using my foot massager everyday during work from home; I was also working on my Ebay selling and buying on my other computer in my room; I also put a dark tape like tinting a car windows on my BNY computer camera so nobody can really see my room. May God forgive my sins. Amen
HR departments--not just at BNYM but at EVERY large corporate entity--only exist to serve the needs of the company. Yes, they manage the benefits side of employer relations, but try and remember that every ounce of their efforts have a bottom line of what is best for the company, not what is best for the employee.
It's awful with HR. I applied for lateral moves and got ZERO response from HR, even for positions I interviewed for. I didn't even get a rejection email. I found out someone else got the role via the org chart.
