Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BofA Mgt HATES WFH and will be relentless to crack down on it after RTO

I heard today in a meeting that they are looking to get rid of MyWork entirely. If you do not come in to the office you have 2 choices
1- Come In
2-Leave

This is all new development in a senior meeting I was in.
While the world goes towards flex work and accommodation, BofA takes 10 steps back.

I hate this place! I will be quitting for sure if this happens.

Not really a new development. I was MyWork for 12ish years and brought back in in 2019. Many people who didn't work close to core campuses were laid off. I enjoyed it but didn't mind coming back in, then the pandemic hit and now scheduled to RTO in September.

About a year before the pandemic hit our business sent all the mywork people back to the office. there were a small group of exceptions based on no office within any distance to their homes (management allowed) or medical exceptions. Out of 500 people, 50 people were allowed to remain mywork. none of their circumstances have changed. they still have no office nearby nor have those w/ medical situations changed. i can see the mywork program remaining in place, but everyone who applies for it will be declined. the bank will want it in place for optics, to appear that they have a flexible work place program. nobody who has a medical exemption will be displaced. the definition of medical exception is going to expand now that some of these people with legitimate reasons not to vaccinate will be getting sign off from doctors. all of these medical exceptions are going to really annoy the cr-p out of management because there won't be anything they can do about it. however, those who have a distance exception might not be safe. in our business many of the people that were allowed to remain in the mywork program are frequently recognized as top performers -- this year several were given the valiant award. but, the mywork program will be run as inconsistently as it was before. depending on what business you work for, the rules will be applied differently. before they go after any of the actual mywork people, the focus will be to get all these non-mywork back into the office with butts back in seats.

Yeah myWork has been going away now for years. April 2021 was the end of my tenure after 16 years as a myWork associate; I took the package.

I have said this repeatedly that BOA doesn't care about their employees. I don't have any agenda on this board against BOA. This company through their actions this past year and a half have shown how much they value their employees which is very little. Other companies are light years ahead of BOA on this WFH issue. The CEO only cares about stockholders and his azz. He could care less how many will get infected with this virus when they RTO. If he cared they would continue with the ongoing WFH plan that is proving to be effective.
