Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Some don't give notice at all???

Everything that's happening here, unfortunately, does not seem to be happening for the benefit of employees. I wish it wasn't like that, but I think the situation is become more and more difficult for the employees here. I can't even imagine what the company will look like in just two years? I hope that everyone will find much better jobs soon.

I’ve managed to find a new opportunity which I think is at least a little better and I intend to give notice tomorrow. One person told me that maybe I shouldn’t give notice at all and that there are a lot of people who leave without giving notice. I still intend to give notice but I wonder if that is true?

Toxic workplace & dysfunctional regional / global I wouldn’t just due to the way they run business and keep cutting perks for team members I can’t wait for annual enrollment to see what we loose and how what our leaders say so we can drink the cool aid and be like yes it’s a better place to work for.

My team leader put in his 2 weeks since no one applied for atl after reposting several times and has been working extra days & overtime for a while then he started having health problems due to him overworking himself 2 weeks is nice but he should have just left with no notice why do that to himself.

Astl’s are floaters .Astl’s are jacks of all trades and masters of none very weak leaders who can’t make sense of the reporting systems.

Maybe if store leadership would exercise less control over teams, TLs and ATLs wouldn't be leaving.

Too many people are quitting without notice . The tl’s and atl’s are leaving in droves there is no way we can handle this in the holidays. If no one controls the teams and guides them more team members will be leaving store leadership has to take lead of the teams or else there will be less and less money coming to the stores.

Oh yes. I'm in leadership and hardly anyone gives notice these days. Most ghost us completely. The ones that do give notice never actually stay until their last day. It causes some schedule switching and some extra work but nothing major. We are already so comically understaffed that losing a TM it's like whatever. We had two TM's working in a combined department tonight and one of them it was their first shift. In many cases the TM's that tend to leave we are better off without. We lost one of our best employees without notice recently which is a bummer but before that we lost 5 or 6 TM's that did not work or created extra work or were just plain toxic. So when they quit without notice it's a nice surprise. Tm's that want to stay are going to stick it out and want extra hours so I'd say go ahead and leave with short notice. They will survive. If you were a well liked and valuable Tm your work friends would want you to focus on yourself rather than worry about them. Giving notice allows us to hire a replacement immediately rather than having to follow the steps when someone ghosts us. If a TM no call no shows 3 times it's considered job abandonment, then we have to call them. Of course they don't answer so we have to call their emergency contact. Then we have to send them a letter of separation before we can even post a new position in Workday. Since PT's often won't miss their third shift for a week or more it can prevent us from hiring for a few weeks. Bureaucracy, am I right? Congrats on the opportunity. Whole Foods really has to get their act together or there will be no one left to work.

Once out tl left the department it turned to fe--s our atl is barely surviving but already told us he is leaving for another better job.we got no one to guide the team . I am looking to go to another store or leave . Every time we lose a team member the workload gets bigger but they have to care of themselves so do what is best for you and your health and leave.

Give notice. Your fellow team members who are struggling don't deserve more hardship.

In many cases, store leadership is trash and deserves to feel the heat. Regional and global definitely deserve to feel the consequences of their clueless policies. But quitting without notice won't make them hurt one bit.

Congratulations!
