Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Too funny

Got my review today:

Last year, top performer with highest numbers M/M.
This year, gave up trying and had lowest numbers M/M.

I hate reviews. In past years I was told to never rank myself as E/E because that is a sign that " It makes it appear that I've mastered my job and can not grow in my position " (scratching head). M/M shows that I have room to grow. NDM indicates that you need a "Professional Development Plan ".

So for 20 years, I've held the same title, I've made it clear that I'm happy with my salary, so I don't care about a bonus that is taxed at 48%. I'm thankful for the regular cost of living raise.

My biggest complaints are:

  • I've put my time in and taken my lumps, so just change my title to reflect my years of deduction an my willingness to volunteer for anything. I average 12 to 14 hours a day.
  • If I ask for projects that will increase my knowledge base, please assign me. a few that I can learn from.
  • If you don't assign me to complex projects, then stop stating that I'm in the bottom 1/3 rd of my team and I am being "out paced" by my peers.
  • Finally when you do speak to me about projects, stop pointing out the cr---y projects. instead mark down so accomplishments once. in while.
  • stop saying that you will provide assistance, then fail to do so every year.

trust me there are plenty of examples that reflect my work ethics.

(end rant)

positive guideance and acknowledgement is all I ask for. An employee that is acknowledged a few times a year for the positive efforts is generally a happier employee.

I got my reviews today, basically manager shared his screen and asked me to read and approve. I did the same. Very smooth transition. I like this, because nothing will change anyway even if you dont agree.
Rather agree and maybe not giving too much trouble to manager accounts for some extra bonus/hike.

This whole company is a fuhking joke from the CEO on down to these fuhking managers. It's useless going to HR because they work for this shlithole and will side with these mofos everytime. I would just use this fuhking company until something else better comes along. I worked at other companies and they were so fair in giving you compensation for your hard work . This company is the the WORST PLACE I EVER WORKED FOR IN MY LIFE!!!! I HOPE THESE MOFOS DIE FROM COVID!!!

My team is getting our reviews too. I haven't got mine yet and will just agree to anything that my manager puts in it. It is meaningless. I'm not planning to move to another position in the bank. I'm terminal in my current role. Next stop is out the door. It's just a question when.

I stopped taking the reviews seriously once I noticed my salary increase didn't coincide with my grades. Meaning there have been years where my increase was larger when I had a M/M then years where I was E/E or E/M. Inconsistent. Now, I basically copy and paste last year's review, change a few words here and there then hit submit and go on with my day.

The reviews are pretty easy to manipulate. Write a book about yourself and every tiny thing you’ve accomplished throughout the year (keep track daily or monthly) then give yourself an E/E. Works every time even if you stop trying.

I used to strive for and achieve exceeds every year and now I'm making the same as a new employee. Stopped trying. Much happier.
