Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Astronomical stress

Sometimes I really wonder why I need all this, why I don't accept any other offer just to get rid of so much stress.

Our manager only knows how to set unrealistic goals and create stress. It's getting worse day by day. Is it even possible to work stress-free at BNYM anymore?

No, you won’t, because an offer is not going to drop into your lap without a lot of effort. Suggest New Years resolution to revise resumé and network with friends to find leads. Nothing will change until you do.

Good Luck and revert here if this changes your life. Good luck!

@1fot, i did no such thing. Not all managers are bad guys. It's everyone job to find the right manager that supports and advocates for them.

Really, 1agm? Why do you sneak up on people and tap them on the shoulder to fire them? And then leave everyone guessing for weeks if you're done or not?

All managers are cut from the same autocratic mold.

As a manager, I know my team is my right hand. Without them, I can't achieved my goals and objectives. And my manager knows that too and treats everyone with respect. So, there are good managers at BNY. I've also reported to managers that only manage up.

I completely agree with the below, unfortunately, good managers don’t exist at BNY Mellon.

one thing i learned to finally do here is to push back, even to managers or people much higher than me. you have a say too. your manager needs you way more than you need them. let them know how you feel. a good manager should take you seriously.
