Rehiring process

I've worked at BofA for a long time so I know what it's like to work here - I don't need any unconstructive criticism, I'm just interested in the experiences of those who tried to get rehired here after they left. Is it hard to get a job here again, after you left voluntarily?

Time is “bridged” as long as rehired date is within six months. There doesn’t seem to be any hiring preference on previous employees even those with exceeds ratings. Aren’t most positions being filled internally still through my mobility? I thought 90% of opens were going to internal candidates (another flawed approach but that’s another story)

@1kpq+1eZzOskE not me, but when they bridge your time it's like you didn't leave as far as years of service. Example you worked for BofA for 5 years, left, then came back 2 years ago - you would show up as being an employee for 7 years. There are all kinds of rules around it but that's the basics.

for the person who said they "bridged your time" - can you elaborate further on that please?

I worked there twice on contract and then eventually full-time, but it was always with the same manager. As long as you left on good terms there are no issues.

Yes you are correct. I went to work for Nations Bank from 1997 - 2000, then was hired back again to BofA from 2010 - 2021.

You can call the global HR number and ask them to check if you are eligible for rehire. I did that years ago when I landed an interview. I made it back in and they bridged my time without me asking! Good luck.

As long as you didn't get terminated for misconduct, you should be eligible for rehire.
