Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Give it up already

RTO is here to stay. There's nothing you can do to change that at this point. Short of Russia invading the U.S., there'll be no more delays, exemptions, or whatever else you can think of in hopes work from home will return. This has been decided. How long will it take for all of you to accept that and move on?

Fine - make people come to work. You will get less out of the few who show, but still pay the same. Oh! plus the $$$ for your precious corporate real estate.

That math work for you, sucka?

Dear OP,

The world is changing. Time to give up on the old horse & buggy and check out those newfangled automobiles. Global pandemic, wartime fuel disruptions, and the bank wants to force everyone in, just so they can use webex for meetings? Oh I almost forgot: one may be the only person in their group on site, but we want them to chat at the water cooler.

The ancient ways will keep us from being the best in favor of being the most traditional. Bragging on Flagscape about how many digital interactions customers have while at the same time saying work must be done face to face is a joke, right?

Brian needs to back up his talk about his reason for RTO by integrating the entire bank into one site, banning Skype/webex/email, and making everyone meet in person for everything.... or get out of the way and let the company keep up with the rest of the world adapting technology. Forcing people to commute to jobs where they work in a solitary environment is simply a way to drive people out. The OP attitude is a perfect example. Simply saying "because I said so!" only makes people move to better jobs elsewhere.

You sound bitter and like you work in a role where hybrid won't be an option. Sucks for you. But hybrid is coming. Whether you like it or not.

I feel like RTO is definitely going to be the only option they are going to offer in the near future just based on what I have seen. Now, I also feel like people like you who have this way of belittling people who want to work from home have a real issue with their personal life. You could care less about improving your way of living if you think RTO for everyone is the answer. If you believe being forced into a box and staying there all day surrounded by strangers, not to mention the commute hassles and the cost of the commute to get to such box and feel like it is good to be obligated to do this in a pattern everyday for the rest of God knows how many years without an option to do the same thing from your home or wherever the heck you feel like working from, then I do believe you have an issue. Some people don't like to use the yellow pages to look for services, why are we still pushing associates to do things the same way we did 30 yrs ago? We have to advance with technology, the bank is pushing for customers to do everything online because they count with the technology and means to do that, then why make your employees struggle to do the same thing? Why force you to commute and pay from your pocket to get to the office and have to search for food or pack food everyday and waste time going to their box when you can be doing that from home? I don't understand, maybe you still use the yellow pages to look for services and white pages to find phone numbers, I can't blame you if you can't handle technology yet.
