I recently received an offer of employment for BNY, but it is pending a dr-g screening-something that was not discussed until I read the offer verbiage. Does BNY test for THC or will having this show on my exam cause my offer rescinded. Any insight on this is greatly appreciated!

This dr-ggie has been posting this exact post for nearly 3 years. Don’t tell me that pot doesn’t make you lose short term memory.
@6fbsl, he got promoted to CEO.
What ended up happening?
Ya… tell it to the Client Service Center overnight shift. Be sure to pack if you do go in there.
p.s. word to the wise… the guards and the overnight workers are all gang affiliated. BNYM affiliation ranks lower than gang affiliation as we pay less…
“Despite BNYM servicing cannibus-based securities, I wouldn’t be surprised if they still had that boomer mentality of zero tolerance.”
Ha ha… you don’t understand Boomers at all. Ever heard of Vietnam, Woodstock, Monterey, the Electric Kool Aid Acid tests, Timothy Leery, the Grateful Dead, Drop Out Turn on Tune in?
But we grew up out of it, went to work, quit that scene losing loved ones and seeing the struggles of those who couldn’t escape it.
Hopefully you can escape it too. We boomers learned the hard way and showed you where the lines were.
Thanks for mentioning Amazon hiring dr-ggies. I’ve encountered a spate of botched orders and subsequent fiascos getting returns processed correctly over the past 2 years. Had a long running series of calls with Amazon going over all of the issues. Got my Prime reimbursed and I cancelled it. Finally got all of the incorrect products that I had returned reimbursed. Thankfully I keep good records and proof.
In all these situations it never once crossed my mind that their warehouses are operated by dr-ggies. It really makes a lot of sense especially after working with a few dr-ggies here.
Can’t we even find a non-dr-ggie who wants to work here? Has it really gotten this bad?
Can anybody tell me why we aren’t exclusively hiring H1B workers at this point? We’re not even beating Wendy’s employment qualifications…
My test was deferred “due to Covid” and it’s been 4 months without a test.
So now we are hiring below the standards of Subway and Wendy’s.
Lovely.
THC is no longer a consideration.
Od course a dr-g screening was not discussed and you didn’t notice until you read the offer verbiage. Dr-g testing in banking has been required for at least 40 years. Only a dr-g user would be surprised by this, and a dr-g user should be the first to be aware of this. Why do you think people call it dope?
They quietly stopped testing for weed. If you end up on a fed gov project or at client’s request they may do more testing and can fire you for failure.
I’d rather hire engaged contractors than dr-ggies any day. I mean this isn’t heavy labor… we theoretically work with our minds after all.
The fact that this post is on the board, speaks volumes to how low this company has fallen! LOL!
I for one am glad to hear that we are no longer hiring dr-ggies. So tired of pulling my load, much of which requires me to drag my dr-g-addled co-”workers” along. I should get my pay and half of theirs on top of it. Please HR, let’s ramp up the dr-g testing.
A manager there was trying to hire someone who tested positive. Because they were a good candidate, they worked together to schedule a re-test a few months out after the THC left their system, and it all worked out.
It’s absurd. THC doesn’t cause people to steal or cheat, which is what banks care about. The hard stuff that does that leaves your system in a couple days.
Dr-g testing is stupid.
yes they test for weed this is BNYM not some frat-infested startup. if they want to maintain a "reputation" then yeah there's a likely chance they will rescind. i hear amazon stopped thc testing so apply there maybe.
@lnd, while it's crazy that BK services securities that break federal laws, it's not only boomers who realize the devastating effects of THC on people. Especially the 20% of the population that already have serious psychiatric issues. Every time you hear about some kind of gruesome mu---r, it's committed by someone with a THC issue. But don't let facts get in the way of your incorrect view of reality young whippersnapper.
The chances of BNYM withdrawing its offer are high, since it is part of the Federal banking system. Not only BNYM, but all banks and financial systems do pre-employment dr-g testing.
More info:
Do Banks Do Pre-Employment Dr-g Test?
Most banks require their prospective employees to undergo pre-employment dr-g tests. Wells Fargo in San Francisco, CA, Beaverton, OR, New York, NY, Thousand Oaks, CA, San Francisco, CA, Sacramento, CA, Lynnwood, WA, Rancho Cordova, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, and Annandale, VA do require pre-employment dr-g testing.
Similarly, Citibank New York, Las Vegas, and Dallas also require their prospective employees to undergo a pre-employment dr-g test.
Moreover, the pre-employment dr-g tests conducted by banks are not done during the initial interview. Instead, bank applicants with conditional job offers are usually given two business days to complete their dr-g screening requirements.
What Dr-gs Do Banks Test For?
As banks are federal contractors, they are often required to follow the federal guidelines on dr-g testing, which were later on expanded to include laboratory testing of or-l fluid, hair, and sweat patch specimens in addition to ur--e specimens.
These additional dr-g testing types are designed to detect Co----e, Ma------a, Phencyclidine, Opiates, and Amphetamine.
What Types of Dr-g Tests are Used?
Banks have their own preferred dr-g testing type, but most of the major banks generally use a ur--e dr-g test. For example, Wells Fargo utilizes the 5-panel ur--e tests in its pre-employment dr-g testing, while Citibank also uses the 5-panel ur--e test in its pre-employment dr-g tests.
Other banks likewise seem to prefer the 5-panel ur--e dr-g test over other types of dr-g tests.
Despite BNYM servicing cannibus-based securities, I wouldn’t be surprised if they still had that boomer mentality of zero tolerance.
