Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Don't rush to leave

I'm all for finding a better job than here but please make sure that you ARE making a move to something better and not just leaving for the sake of leaving. A friend did that and he soon found himself in a worse position even if he didn't think it was possible. Just make sure to learn as much as you can about your new company and try to speak to some actual employees before saying yes. That's my advice, take it or leave it.

What??? You want me to learn about a company before going to work for them? Good advice, Todd.

I spent 5 years at this company and have absolutely no regrets about moving on. My new position has less stress, less toxicity, better managers, better pay, and I'm working from home 100%. I check back here occasionally to see how it is going, but it is the same BS as when I worked there: low pay, overworked, stressful, bad managers, clueless senior management, jobs moving to India, etc. It isn't very hard to find much better companies out there than this one.

I researched companies before applying to them. You cannot be suckered. There are fake companies, but everyone shold realize that. No regrets leaving BNY Mellon. Life is much better and management actually cares about your success. The finance industry is great for gaining experience but not a forever home!
