Biggest increase for a new job

I could've gotten 10% pay increase at another organization but in the end I refused that offer because I wasn't satisfied with other things. My colleague accepted an offer with a similar pay increase. However, here I see people writing about getting up to 60% increase after leaving here. Is it possible that some people are getting that much more?

I know IT people at BK that make 80 - 100k that would be making 150k elsewhere.

Yep - it absolutely IS happening. Some employees at this company receive incredibly low pay for the positions they hold. They just assume they can offshore your job to India if you leave, and pay even less. That's what happens most of the time, if the position is even filled at all.

Went from $70K to $97K. Left the bank 6 months ago.

Moved to another bank and received a 68% increase in salary for a similar role. After bonus I doubled my total comp. BNY made no attempt to retain, no exit interview. I will say, BNY had a really good 401k but that’s peanuts in comparison to new TC.

I left BNYM for a smaller competitor last year. I got a higher position, 60% raise, half the work, and still WFH. I'm so much happier.

I've made it to the third and final round of interviews for a job that pays almost double of what I make here, but was ultimately rejected. Honestly, it is reasonable to just quit BNY so you can focus jobhunting fulltime for a few weeks/months. You'll quickly make those few paychecks back in no time.

I think with a bit more interview prep and practice, I'll be able to escape from here.
