Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I think those who would like to be paid to leave are in majority

I have a lot of complaints, but I still love my job here and I wouldn’t like to lose it. I don't think the grass is much greener anywhere, it just depends on what one's priorities are. On the other hand, I think never (and I’ve been working here for a long time), have so many people wanted to get a package and leave? For the first time I think there are more of those who would like to be laid off than those who would like to stay here for a while longer.

The puzzlement for me is how leaders in the bank are so oblivious to this (BAND 0-3). The amount of shareholder value being shed from loss of talent is unbelievable. Why the bank is replacing top 20% talent with those will simply are no where near the same level for more money is beyond me.

I use to come on here a lot because I was just as miserable working for BOFA. I was over worked, exhausted and mentally drained from the work load. My leadership team lacked leadership skills. It got to the point where my misery turned into hating the bank then depression started to set in. I use to love working here but a lot of people started leaving and the people they were hiring didn’t have the skillset to do the job so they piled more work on me. I started posting outside the bank and it took some time to find something else but I eventually did and I’m so much happier because not only did I get a huge pay increase it was a full time remote position. So far it’s been great at the new job. The grass can be greener it depends on how you look at it. I realized complaining about how miserable I was wasn’t going to help how I was feeling. I would still come on here and complain but I was also looking desperately to get out. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on. It was the best decision I made for myself and I’m happier for it.

I ve been here for 20 years. I am good at job and promoted 2x in last 3 years. I am a band 4 and manager of 7. I want a package.

I got no raise this year after record earnings and bonus went up $1k. We had 5 people retire and or quit and I am having to "try" to hire people with no experience, but will be making $20k more than I will make as their manager.

My manager says its a tight market and thats why they would be making more than me. I am obvioulsy not paid market rate and I just don't want this toxic environment anymore...

I would love a package and I have been here 25 years. I used to love working at boa but not anymore. The forced rto is just too much with current inflation. I have accrued too much vac and time at the bank to just walk away. I feel like I have earned the severance package and it would be a great blessing. Used to we dreaded the days of layoffs not knowing if you would be called in next. Now I want to raise my hand and scream out PICK ME!!!’
