There are rumors about another round of cuts next week. This will not happen. We have 1500 roles to fill and we'll continue to grow.

That's not accurate. Companies very often have open roles that are never filled. When a layoff event occurs, these roles are included in the number of "layoffs", which makes it look like a company is making bigger reductions than it actually is, making investors happy about the "bold moves" the company is making to right the ship. It's all nonsense, but that's how it works.
If you want to keep your job, keep your head down (mouth shut) and work. Don't make yourself a target. This should be common-sense, but it's not.
Grow as much as you want, I'm not watching Netflix anymore, period.
