I was so angry when I was laid off, especially considering they decided to keep the most incompetent person on our team, but honestly, today I’m so glad I was. It took finding a new job and settling in for a few months to realize how toxic my former workplace was and how lucky I am not to work there anymore. You might not believe me now, but I guarantee you it gets much, much better once you're out of there.

Yeah, I concur with the OP. I knew the bank was bad, but until I left for greener pastures I didn't realize just how bad it was. You can think that it's just the way corps are now... but that isn't true - not in my experience anyway. If you're unhappy there, bail. There are much better places.
So what you are saying is the two "anons" are right as you clearly are unhappy.
both you other anons, eat a di--o and choke
Truly happy people who have moved on do not come to a site like this to tell people how happy they now are. Let's keep it real.
That said, I hope you are doing as well as possible.
I can't wait to do the same! Already in the interview process at other places and just from an initial view, 15K more base PLUS real bonuses of 10-15% vs the BS the bank shafts you with, if you get one at all.
