Shocked by several of the people promoted. Some have only been here for six months, but were promoted to senior director.
Others were promoted just a year or two ago and got a promotion again.
How does that happen? How could you possibly contribute significantly during that time period in your position to qualify for a promotion?

as another poster mentioned, some of these “promotions” don’t come with pay.
I was told I was in line for a promotion, but they wanted me to do the additional work before getting paid for it and I told them I’d do the work after I’m compensated for it… Needless to say it never happened so I looked to move to a higher position outside of my group and moved on at a higher grade level and received about a 15% increase - still the same dump of a company & still looking outside this dump , but the increase was nice

Everyone who you know that has been fast-tracked into Senior roles are Goldman Sachs castoffs.
I know of someone that was pushed into taking on an entirely new set of roles and responsibilities in early 2024. This person didn’t get a promotion and had to perform both their new job and prior job that entire year. Senior management did this person so wrong. This person will likely leave this year and management will act as if they had no clue that this person was unhappy.
