In 2022, McKinsey received $55 million to advise Warner Brothers on merging with Discovery.

Between 2022 and 2025, McKinsey earned another $37 million from Warner Brothers Discovery for recommending brand changes: first from HBO to HBO Max, then to Max, and eventually back to HBO Max.

In 2025, McKinsey charged the company an additional $63 million to conclude that Warner Brothers and Discovery should once again operate as separate brands.
